You can always start the plants indoors and transplant them outside once you are confident/have faith in our ever-as-changeable weather.
That way it starts outside good n healthy as opposed to a tiiiny little seedling that has huge slugs etc to face!

Yeah the wether here's been pretty good. Nice and sunny, sun dos'nt go down til about 9, and the nights are hot and sticky. Im gonna do an outdoor grow this year :) My first ever attempt at growing and a stoner from another weed forum that i've been talking to for years is gonna send me some AK47 seeds.

An easy way to get around slugs and snails is to put the plant in a pot (large so you wont need to bugger around with transplanting) with perlite and all that crap, then just stand it up a few inches off the ground with some jagged rocks - the kind you can buy at a fish store for fishtanks. Slugs and snails cant crawl up jagged rocks... well, they can, but they wont get very far!
Gonna go an outdoor grow soon aswell, probably in about a month because Ive got Lowryders and they finish in a couple of months. Id love to have a stash of indoor and outdoor bud, done with and without nutes. Does anyone actually know what the difference is between indoor and outdoor bud?
Oh and Chisme, Im thinking that its gonna be a long, hot and dry summer aswell, because of all the cold weather and excessive rain.

Im going to be doing an outdoor grow but im going to be growing the AK47 in a greenhouse. Would i still be at risk with slugs and snails? because iv seen alot of slugs around here latly lol. But im not startin my grow for a while.

If its in a greenhouse, its a lot easier to control pests. Just get some coarse, sandy gravel and spread that around your greenhouse and thatll take care of the little bastards. Ladybugs take care of a lot of other pests aswell, so if you can grab some of them from the garden and chuck them in the greenhouse.

You guys in England are lucky â?? you might get the same shitty winters as us but at least you get to experience a decent summer. Last year here was terrible â?? it was cold and grey the whole time.
I went down to Alton Towers one day in July and it was the hottest day Iâ??ve experienced since I went to Australia â?? think it was like 30c â??we never get temperatures like that! Iâ??m going to try and spend as much time in England as I can this â??summerâ??
I would say about 16/18 days this month it has been raining here :(

I dunno, its been raining here for me yesturday and a few days ago before that. But its still pretty damn hot mornings.
Here's a pic from last week. I think it was taken about 8pm? mybe?
and right now all i got on is a pair of boxers and a t shirt and im sweatin quite a bit.
I'll be starting outside in the next few weeks. Good luck everyone.
I went to alton towers in july too!
Stnading there for 2 hours to get on the really fast one, cant remember whats its called, and it only lasted for 30 fucking seconds lol.
THEN as i was driving back to the hotel with my mates the turbo went on my car, and i lost a hell of alot of power, then the smoke started pouring out of the exhaust, so i somehow got the slut back to the hotel and as i parked, it stuttered and that was it.
THen i had to get a recovery truck to tow me all the way back to essex from birmingham...
4 hours in the back of a truck is NOT fun lol.
And i am a member of billericay and district angling club :):)

Rita! I thought that ride was amazing, I wasnt up for Oblivion when I got there but after 'riding Rita' I went straight on it! Will def be going back down there this summer - I think Stoke on Trent is really nice!
Stoke on Trent is a very nice place lol, and yeah, i knew it was some old womans name lol...
Oblivian was good, i enjoyed that...
But i think i liked the hotel the most...
there was a "gentlemans" club outside, so i was in there almost all night lol >:)

I'm scared of hight's so i don't go on rides. I went on ripsaw before.... I don't know whats so good about it? it turned me upside down and then squirted water in my face? and then i was wet and cold throughout the rest of the day. Wheres the fun in that? lol.

Slug pellet's will leech into the soil and hurt your plants. If they're in pots then put the pots on jagged stones, if they're straight in the ground the wrap a bit of copper wire (make sure to strip the plastic) around the stem a few inches up, not too tight though!
What strain you putting out? I'm going for Purple #1 myself.

Hey uk peeps, dont normally post but this thread seemed interesting. For all you guys growin outside in the uk: are there any special stains that do particularly well in our shitty weather? one of you mentioned purple, is that because it does well in the cold or cuz its a cool colour?? and also, how many of you guys are gonna plant in you back gardens and how many are gonna plant in some unused land somewhere?

plants go purple when its cold, purple strains r good for UK, so our Lowryders and any Sativas cos they end quicker

nice one mate, thanks.. think i might just have a go this year. if you plant outside, how often do you think ya would need to carry water to it? i know i could research myself, but hey

04-18-2006, 08:11 PM
it all depends really dont water too much tho, just when it needs it judge by the soil, humidity of the day.

if u plant near a ditch or stream, river or such u do not really need to water unless u wanna add sum nutes every now and then

im outting out aload of free seed from uk hemp expo aswell as a couple of feminised mazar and maybee an early girl:D
There are quite a few good strains for the UK climate, Biddy Early's good, Durban Poison, Passion #1, Holland's Hope etc.
I'll be growing in a secluded area reasonably near by.
If you want advice from some real experts head over to the forums on www.uk420.com those people know what they're talking about.

Anyway, to re-hijack the thread...
Alton Towers sucks. Try going Drayton Manor Park, yeah theyve got less rides, but that doesnt mean they arent as good - in fact, some of them are even better. Try www.draytonmanor.co.uk and have a ganders. You can easily get on every single ride at least once in a whole day, plus theres not as many damn queues.
Ooh, they have a zoo aswell!

yeh they are like that but with every1 not just u, i like it there though cos its kept under control
i started my outside 2 weeks ago on a windowsill, but my mum killed em, only little seedlings, cos were moving house near end summer so it would be pretty dodgy trying to move 5 full size plants cos they wouldnt of been finished and the new house isnt so ideal for outside growing.. o well
make sure u lot post some pics

I've heard purple bud's ar'nt as strong? like... they have less THC or something.
They're not incredibly powerful but at the end of the day a lot of average weed is a lot better then a load of rotting buds.

In fact, Lowryders are underestimated. Everyone hears that its got ruderalis in it, and automatically assumes its a load of shite. Its actually pretty decent, 'dank' round here sells for £20 an eighth, and if I grew Lowryder to sell youd be able to get £15 an eighth for it easily. If people were desperate you could charge £20, but thats being cheeky.
It is a damn nice smoke though.

£20 for eigth is pretty good. I used to buy £18 for eigth back with my old dealer, it was about mid's tho, and it had quite a few seeds. Stuff i get now is like £25 for eigth and £65 for half o... Again, its suppose to be dank but the sack i had last week had about 2 or 3 seeds in it. Which was kinda disapointing.
Swizzy89304

I wouldnt be dissapointed if I got seeds in my sack - even if the weed was crap, at least Id be able to grow the strain decently. Remember, schwagg is only scwagg because of the conditions its grown under. A AK47 seed can easily be turned into schwagg if grown under a incandescent lamp.

I'd be cautious about planting outside at the mo, prob better off to start indoor. I was watching a documentry the other night about 2006's strange weather. We're meant to have a big freeze this Jan & Feb, proper cold, like way into minus numbers. But hey, when have the met office got it right!?
Peace
