stairway to heaven always seems to be popular with beginners. Try that.

Alice in Chain's Songs are good songs to learn. most of them are pretty mellow and easy to learn. when i started to learn guitar it took maybe a week of pratice to learn how to play all the way Though "Man in a Box".

Are we talking plucking (Rhythm) Chords Or Power Chords?

Learn the chords, then progress onto songs...

I play bass and guitar, i picked it up fairly easily..

An few easy ones to start with are:

Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple.

More than a feeling by bostin.

The trooper by Iron Maiden.

Shinobi vs Dragonninja by Lostprofits.

Smells like teen spirit by Nirvana.

Smothered by Spineshank.

Cooler Then Jesus

Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple.

thats the main one i was thinking of but couldnt remember. nirvana smells like teen spirit is a great one too. im trying to think of some of the first songs i learned how to play(which included smoke on the water). blur - song 2 was the first song i learned how to play(talk about easy).

metallica - enter sandman
nirvana - come as you are
blink 182 - alot of their songs are easy(dammit)
lynyrd skynyrd - simple man, sweet home alabama
3 doors down - kryptonite
the offspring - self esteem
papa roach - last resort(really helps you develop speed)
pink floyd - money
red hot chili peppers - i could have lied

Thats a good site for learners yoda! :)

I think the first song i EVER played on a guitar was Smoke On The Water.

I can play Blur, song 2 as well lol...

Put it this way, you have to practise to become good at anything, and its very true when talking about guitars, you'll fuck up alot, everyone does, i did hell of alot, but if you put the time in, then goddamn it, you'll be great in no time lol...

I've been practising bass for about 3 hours a day for god knows how many years, and now i can play anything i want, and i can listen to a song and just get my bass and play it....

And the guitarist in my band can do the most difficult solos i have ever heard behind his head like Hendrix.

It take practise :)
