Hey Everyone, This will be may first grow so i hope it goes well. I will be starting my seedlings in a jiffy pot filled with a fertilzer (10-8-6). I want to start my plants indoors and then place them outdoors when the root growth is proper and the plant can sustain outdoor conditions. Now my question is how long should i keep my two plants under my 75 watt blue spectrum light? and how many inches above, how many weeks should i keep this up? My seeds are ending the germination stages and i need to get them up and running.

Sorry my pics are so poor quality (from my cell phone.)

Here are my study guides

Is that light incandesant?

If it is, get some compact flous and use them, they will work better..

well im only using the light for a minimum time, im thinking 2 weeks.

I have a 150 watt hps system but that is being used currently.

That 150 hps would be the bomb compaired to the other one for the 2 weeks indoors...peace

the only flous i have is one for my lizard to provide him with a substitute for sun, it does not say the number of watts on the bulb rather the only numbers on it are F15-T8-BP

I doubt this could be a productive substitute.

yea thats prolly a 15 watter, i can get a 45 watt cfl at my job for like 10 bucks if you need a better light ($20 bucks for 100 watts of light)

i suggest u transfer them outdoors at 4th or 5th nodes and highly suggest u strengthen the stem by either bending them lightly or putting a fan on them also i suggest giving them a couple hours of natural light every day to get them used to the outdoors or the plant may go into shock and die

Hello Emerica :), I can totally understand you wanting to give them a good indoor start before placing them outside.
My first grow was an outdoor one, the seeds were started indoors about half way through April and because I didn't have a light and they sat in the window sill untill the end of the first week of May, then they were transplanted outside.

They did do a bit of streching in the window but I just put some sticks in for support. Once outdoors then nature just takes over and soon the sticks could be removed.
Just my thoughts, give them 2 -3 weeks indoors under you're light and if the weather conditions are ok get them outside in a sunny area and just watch them go ;).
