So many different kinds of lights. What works? HID, MH, HPS, or CFL? HID, MH, HPS are more expensive to buy and less energy efficient than CF L's. They also put out mass quantities of heat so cooling the lights becomes an issue allthough they work the best i suggest CFL's. CF L's (compact flourescent lights) are cheap, easy to obtain and work great. I suggest CF L's for the beginner as they run cooler, are more energy efficient, and more forgiving when lighting mishaps occur. Remember you need at least 300 watts per plant. Blue spectrum for vegative growth and orange to red spectrum for flowering. CF L's should never be more than 2 in above the plant for maximum efficiency.( My lights 125 watt envirolite 40 watt 2700k plant light 4 ft floro tube and 2 4 ft 40 watt soft white floro tubes )
good luck
