hey guys just wondering about house alarms. how do they work and shit. ive seen the little magnet things on windows and stuff, obviously if one magnet comes seperated from another the alarm goes off, but if a window or soemthing doesnt have one of these, are u safe to use it while the alarms on? even so, it would seem like if the glass on that window got busted the alarm would go off so it should when opened but i duno. just let me know what u guys think.

If you're worried about it, find the box and kill the phoneline. The alarm co might notice, but if the house doesn't pay for a service, no one may care.......why exactly are we wanting to break into this house again?

im not breaking in, its so my friend can get out lol. yea thats what i was wondering Bong30, mayb the entire house is somehow covered by a motion detector and if any window or door opens reguardless of if its connected to the alarm...i duno. i just dont want her to get caught the second she opens the window, will be her first time smoking and her parents are very anal so sneaking out is the easiest way, but dumb and sketchy i kno.

Have her do a test run and open the window a bit and see if anything happens. If so, then no big deal, it was an accident. If not, then have fun.

^yea im just gona have her open the window first, then once her parents set the alarm if it notifies them then, oops, accidentally left the window open, if not then were all good.

Getting out would be easy. Consumer alarms are very simple and rely on the suspect being a complete idiot to begin with. Just don't touch a window or door that is monitored and you'll be fine.

ive faced this problem before, it wasn't the alarm going off we had to worry about tho, it was that goddamned beeping it does when anything is opened that would warn the dude's parents we had to worry about. solution? put a pillow firmly up against the idiot box that actually gives off the noise, if the alarm isn't engaged (i.e. not going to trigger the real alarm process) and you block out that damned idiot box with a pillow, she gets out without being detected.... if it's the actual alarm you have to worry about, forget this post entirely... oh yea, i wouldn't advise trying to unplug anything... we tried that, all it did was give us a headache and two suspicous parents (the alarms went off...)

see if the window has the magnets...if it doesnt, your in the clear. dont, i repeat DONT go out a door. Most likely all the doors are gonna be wired.

edit: oh, and dont worry about motion sensors, those are only used if you press "away" on the key pad. when you press"stay" its just the magnets, wired doors, glass breaking etc.

I have to wonder... wouldn't a member of the household have the code to begin with?

even if she did, it would beep loudly when she disabled it, and the parents are already asleep

even if she did, it would beep loudly when she disabled it, and the parents are already asleepOnly if chiming is enabled. I have ADT here and you have to turn it on for it to beep when a door opens. Of course, you can turn it off if you have the code. Perhaps some more planning is in order.

yea he's got the right idea, get the code, disable the beeping, hopefully the parents won't turn it back on, then she can just put in the code and not have to worry...

On any modern alarm system, inside motion detectors shouldn't be enabled while there are people in the house, unless it's a really nice expensive kind that has a seperate "upstairs or downstairs" function. If there are, placing ano object in front of them before they're enabled will keep it from going off. It's a little box with a big red screen on it. From what I've experienced, most of them don't work that well anyways. Or maybe I just had a crappy system.

Personally, I don't think the beeping of turning the alarm system off wouldn't be loud enough to wake up the parents, assuming the system is 100 feet away. I mean, I'm sure there's a door and a big amount of space between the system and where the parents are sleeping.

Finally , have you considered that a girl that's kept under constant surveilance by her parents, that doen't even really see all that much of the world, would even be comfortable smoking knowing that at any second if her parents woke up and looked in her room she would be busted? That right there would make me so paranoid when I was smoking that I would not only be tripping balls about it, but I would never want to smoke again in my life. A friend who turns one off of weed, is not a friend indeed.

^ Fuck that!

Not the alarm stuff. The paranoia stuff.

Paranoia was one of the funnest things EVER! Nothing better than an uber-baked ninja mission you just BARELY got away with.

Oh, and sadly, no more paranoia. Moving out of the parent's house and into one filled with stoners tends to eradicate paranoia pretty quickly. Oh, and it's in southern Oregon.

lol put a bucket over the alarm and just creep it to punch in the key code, that way the sound stays with in the buckets and prevents lots of noise.

or you can open the alarm and cut the power cable off, that way it doesn't turn on(That's assuming that it uses Houses power)

Little girl, first time smoking. Remember, it's not just some guy who went to his friend's house to smoke, it's a girl who's been locked up by her parents.

yes there is a plug that it 'runs' off of.... but if you unplug it, the alarm goes off... (it has battery back up aswell... i assume so people couldn't just cut the power from the outside and not have to worry about ti going off)

Yeah your right about the motion detectors, and the girl too. Why go through all this drama to smoke a bowl with her... There has to be an easier route(besides sneaking her out) Like tell her to tell her parents shes sleeping at her friends house, where you could smoke... that way when they call (I assume they would because u said they were anal) she would be there, so it would be all cool, and you would all be high, not caught/and or paranoid. the end.
