Anyone want to give me a canoe? Pretty please?? I had no idea they were so expensive. If I had known I would have got one cheap in Nantahalla Nc and brought it down. It seems the best flats fishing to be had around here is from a canoe or kayak and I have neither :(
Sooo, anyone have a canoe laying around, I'll take it off of your hands :D

Lol...this is pretty funny benagain. I honestly needed a canoe, and my friend gave me one. It's a beat up peice of shit. But no matter how bad it looks, it still doesn't leak a drop of water. Went out all day yesterday on it. It's great floating down the creek on a canoe, like a whole new viewpoint.

yeah canoes are SWEET lol. sorry man im keepin mine. i bet if you're creative enough you could get the materials to make your own mad cheap, that is if you have any building experience.
this is a weird coincidence cause i just got a book in the mail today called The Survival of the Bark Canoe by John McPhee. It's sort of a story about coming into contact with this guy in NH who was making his own canoes out of all natural materials in the style of the ancient Native Americans tradition. No nails and screws, completely wood all the way around for the joints. I would LOVE to learn that someday, I feel that someday I will be a craftsman.

LOL. I acutally thought for a second about getting one of those, but seeing as Ill be fishing it prolly wouldn't be a great idea. I'm just wanting something to take atvantage of the 'no motor zone'. Plenty of fish but no motorboats there scaring them off.
I figured no one would just wanna give me one, but hell, it never hurts to ask
I'm asking some friends up in the mtns to keep their eyes open for one. Plenty of people have them up there but hardly anyone uses them.

you'd be suprised at the durability of some of those inflatable rafts... as long as you were't stupid, it'd be fine.. by stupid i mean don't go and get ballsy and stab the thing with a knife, or just make sure your line is clear when your casting (i.e. not caught up on the raft)
