you'll need alchohol to extract the thc. Stick 'em in a bottle of vodka.

im' not sure how well the tea will work, i'd suggest making green dragon, which is taking stems/trimmings/left over shit you won't smoke, throwing it in a bottle of alcohol (vodka is usually used here) then letting it sit in sunlight for a few days... there's more to it then that... so if you plan on doing it, research it better.

there is NOTHING OF INTEREST in the stems. if you must use them, they make good props for future plants/branches, stringy toothpicks, markers for your buried treasure, etc...IOW, there is nothing but a waste of time and resources in stems.

(come on, ben...)

if you've got a low tollerance (months without smoking) a couple bowls of stems CAN get you high, and HAS got me high.. it's just if you can make it through that first hit.... harshest shit ever... so there is SOMETHING in them...

once again...there is nothing of value in the stems. there's no thc in them. the plant does not make it in it's "juice"...

but if you want others to waste their time on worthless activities, fine by me. idle hands are the devil's workshop...and all that jazz....

No, the stems are shit, but you never know what's still clinging to them. I've got bored before and took a sharp knife and took out the little bits of bud that tend to cling to the stem (never enough to pack a bowl, but when you're starting to run dry it can't hurt). If anything, you'll have some pretty funky smelling vodka.

If you don't get any THC out of smoking stems, you can still get a light head/placebo effect off them. I smoke my stems when I run dry and it gets me through the day.

ok by nothing of value do you mean there's no thc, or it's just not worth the hassel? cuz even seeds have thc in them.. i think it's something like .01% .... i'm going to assume you're smart enough to know that stems atleast have some thc in them, and guess nothing of value means it's not worth it...

I recommend getting a dutch press from Starbucks or a kitchen store, they are awesome for making coffee or tea and will give you the best results. I usually mix some tea herbs with a few stems and maybe some bud. The stems I get usually are pretty nicely coated with trichs/pollen and I think mostly because they sit in a mason jar with an oz of dank.

I normally mix some milk in with the tea while brewing; the protein in milk is supposed to provide a medium for the THC/CBN to bond to, or so I'm told. The milk doesn't taste bad at all and in fact it's delicious. Cannabis tea makes a wonderful drink before bed.

Injesting cannabis orally is actually supposed to be 2-3 times more effective than smoking but the digestive process means that a smaller amount will enter your bloodstream over a longer time. The effects of tea usually take 30 mins to an hour to start and taper off slowly over 5-6 hours.

my skin and hair probably have a thc content higher then a seed or a stem ...wanna smoke me?
(i'd even bet beers on it, if only there was a way to test my body)

but think about it...don't ya think by now we'd be squeezing out every last bit out of the plant if it had any value other than the industrial and gastrointestinal (now there's a word) values we already know about from the by-products? leaves are as low as anyone goes with the plant as far as illuminating and healing our souls...and it takes a shitload of them to amount to much.

Um actually I believe in Morocco they rub their hands on the stems, leaves, and buds and scrape them with razor blades to make the hash. Although I wouldn't recommend smoking stems, I've vaped some well crushed stems once and it did do the trick.

but the video's i've seen and 1st-hand stories told to me were more of...they used burlap sackcloth and worked it over the plant by various methods (some would wear them as a skirt and run thru the fields) and then take the burlap back to a work table where it was scraped then the resin was dried and pressed.

now there's a beautiful image...

Theres definitely THC in stems. Just not that much, which is why you need like an Oz. of stems just to get a single high from them.

There are several methods used in Morocco, India, Nepal, etc. The one I was referring to is called Charas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charas

I'm not sure if all of the stems on the plant are going to have THC on or in them but I find that making tea is a nice way to use any stems that grow inside the buds.

Stems deftinly have some thc, because on some of my stems i can see tiny crystals, VERY few and iv smoked stems before and gotten high. They've got a very low amount of thc in them but it does have SOME thc.
