I go to the University of Iowa obviously, but last night a huge storm just blew up out of nowhere and had 3 tornadoes come down on Iowa City. The Old Capitol which is where the University is located had a tornado go right next to a residence hall and one went right behind my apartment. A bunch of buildings right behind me are destroyed, trees pulled straight from the ground, cars destroyed, powerlines and gas lines broke. It was insane last night.

Yah we had some nasty funnels here in IL about a month or so ago. Pretty destructive, and LOUD too. Like a train barreling through your house. I feel sorry for all those people that lose their homes, though, because those shitty govt. programs like FEMA are useless and dont ever give enough money to families.
we had some terrible storms here in missouri about a month ago. Hail the size of a golfball or bigger in some places.

About the worst thing to hit my hometown in my lifetime was the peeks creek incident (pics (http://dnet.net/News/ivan/peeksCreek.asp)). Only 5 dead and 15 injured. Still a tragedy, but nothing compared to other incidents that has happened lately. It's such a small town that everyone knew at least 1 of the 5 people who died. Nature can be a wild thing for real.
