Questions on resin, yo!

Ok, my pipe's bowl is gettin thick with resin :D which brings me a few questions:

How do I clean my bowl and keep and the resin to smoke later?

How does resin smoke? Is the high any different? Any special way to smoke it?

Theres some way were you like put it in a bag with some rubbing alcohol and salt and shake it around for a bit. Something like that, don't try it untill someone else gives you better instructions. But that wouldn't help you save the resin, well I sure as hell wouldn't smoke the resin after doing that.

take a lighter heat the bowl from the bottom use a paper clip to scrape most of the resin out. Then suspend ur pipe in a pot of boiling water for 5 minutes. fill a big plastic ziplock bag half way with rubbing alochol then pour salt in the bowl and stem of the piece. Drop the piece in the bag and shake it for like 35-45 seconds and u have a new pipe

The best way to clean pipes is to boil some water and then put the water and your pipe together in a cup or something. Shake the cup or pipe every once and a while so the resin breaks free and falls to the bottom of the cup. After most of it is out of the pipe you can use a coffee filter to strain out the water and leave the resin. Roll the resin into a ball and let it dry then you can just smoke it in your pipe.

What i used to use to scrape was a coat hanger but now i use a paper clip cause of smaller pipe, When it comes to cleaning i use this cleaner i got from the head shop and it works great i believe its called formula 420

I'd never smoke the "resin" from my pipe... It's minaly tar, with a small amount of unused THC, so it will get you high, but id rather stick to weed...

Best way to do it is heat it, get something metal, scrape it out, mold it into a ball, let it rest for about half hour and then smoke it however you want..

i like to scrape the resin on a rolling paper. Fold it in half and cut off little ribbons.

What i do when my bowl has a lot of resin is I heat up the bowl with a lighter, then use a paperclip to get out all of the resin. Then i roll all the resin back up into a ball and smooke it out of my piece. Resin is pretty ditry and tastes like shit, but if your dry...Its good to smoke. Then if you want to 100% clean your pipe place it in a mixture of rubbing alcohol and salt. That shit will lift all of the leftover resin right off the piece. It will look brand new.

really depends on the bowl u have...i use 2 dif. knifes,toothpick,an a cotton swab with the cotton off of it an the scrape forever lol...if u use a screen your resin will be more gooey an runny so you will need to let it dry a bit before u smoke it otherwise it will run right threw your bowl or clog your screen hardcore..an last but not least smoke small bits at a time if u try an smoke a whole lot at once the outside gets hard before the inside is done

depends on the pipe... with my small glass spoon i just use a paper clip, and go in through the carb hole.. it takes some thinking some times to figure out exactly how you're going to get the resin out. special ways? depends on the resin, if it's a hard crusty type (usually only see it in metal bowls) then all you gotta do is scrape it out and put it in your bowl, alot of times wtih my glass spoon i have this really really sticky-liqiudy resin, that you obviously have to add something to it to be able to smoke it. in this case, i either scrape up all the little tiniest bits of shake i can find, or ashes will work in a pinch, i refuse to mix tobacco and weed... for me, i get alot higher on resin then i do regular weed... but resin is the nastiest shit sometimes (sometimes it's just disgusting, and sometimes... it's just so fucking nasty, like if shit contained thc i'd rather eat shit then smoke the resin...) when i smoke resin it never quite all burns away, it'll get really fuckking hard like lava rock (if you've ever seen one) when it's at this point, best to just dump it out, there will always been something in your bowl unless you dump it/clean it out after smoking resin, but that doesn't mean it will even produce smoke anymore...

dude just do resin hits, its so much easier than scraping your pipe for resin, plus directly under the bowl hole is were alot of shake and partially burned weed is. ive gotten higher on like 3 resin hits than i did off of a bowl, because all that ash/shake/not quite all the way burned weed is super resinated YAY!




lol i just cleaned out my pipe and its alreay opaque again. when i cleaned it HUGE chunks of resin came out, like there must have been a tiny little air passageway (and its a huge glass spoon with large chamber)

i usually scrape my pipes after about an oz of usage... when i do clean mine out, it's not for a hit or two, or even a bowl.. when i go to clean out my bowl, i MUST know i'm getting high as fucking hell, or i won't do it all...

Tooth picks suck, boil your pipe or use your nails. Boiling the pipe then straining the ressin then drying it then smoking it then a cheap easy high that burns rather quickly.

I use a paper clip, bending it into a desired direction to get the most scrape. Then just I scrape whatever I get off onto a piece of paper and roll it into a ball when I'm done. Resin is super messy on the fingers, though. The best way is to mix it in with some weed. I've done it once and I got a badass case of the shakes for a little while. I realized it was just my vision shaking hahaha

Why does everyone boil there pipes, am i the only one here that uses the Rubbing alcohol and Salt technique to clean my piece?

No I use the alc/salt method. Boiling would give off a smell

The way I do it is this:

Put your piece in a cup that it can fit within without sticking out of the top, fill the cup with water, and microwave until boiling. Keep a really close eye on the cup and take it out as soon as it starts bubbling. Then CAREFULLY remove the pipe (with tongs or potholder) and set it onto a paper towel. You can even put the water from the cup through a coffee filter to get a little extra out. But if you take the cup out of the microwave RIGHT when it starts bubbling, it will loosen the resin in the pipe but not break a lot off into the water. Anyway, the tool that I use is a hairpin broken in half so that you have a nice little hook at the end. The hot water will have loosened up the resin from your pipe so you should be able to scrape it off. Only AFTER you've scraped off enough resin to be satisfied should you use a cleaning solution as these will just remove the resin without giving you anything left to smoke. What I do if I have a lot of resin but still have weed on hand is put the resin between two pieces of wax paper for safe keeping until I am out of bud and am desperate. If you have a good supply for a long time, you can keep building up this ball and then when you run out, you'll be able to get high for up to a week on the shit. (That is if you keep the resin to yourself. A lot of people don't like smoking rez anyway so sharing the shit isn't usually an issue with me.)

It barely gets you high and will give you a wicked headache. And no matter how much you smoke of it, the whole time you'll be wishing you had pot. Just like if you didn't smoke anything.
