hey guys first and foremost i appreciate any and all advice whether is go suck a fat one or maybe you should try this.

this is my first go around with any of this stuff and i find it to be a quite consuming and very satisfying hobby. I really cant stop going and checking and looking and wondering. I had another thread (WHICH IF YOU CAN MOD-ZANDOR DELETE) and i didn't see a delete option, but i still have the before pics..

i tweaked my setup a little bit added more soil so support the plants and started using superthrive to reduce stress effects and what have yous.

here are the start of my little babies.. hopefully most will be female

thanks for you time, and hang out in this thread too, i don't even care if its on topic. thats the way i roll yo! lol

this is my last little set... they i would guess 3 weeks old, i had been running them 24/0 with 2 2foot flouros, then 2 days ago i added 2 30 watt cfls and switched to 18/6 via the adive of LIP.

what do you think so far. call me a bum i don't care ;) seriously though, negatives, positives, or a "you post too many damn pictures" will work for me

the thermometer says the temp is somewhere around 80 degrees. so im glad about all that now. its not a freakin 90 degree constant

thanks

Looks pretty good but maybe get the lights a little closer.

dion
04-09-2006, 05:20 PM
all sets of lights have been moved closer. all of them... they ought to be getting plenty of man-made sunshine now.. i also put some more relflective blanket on top of the lights. just another layer that is much much closer to the plants than is on the sides or top of the lid. its the way i had it laid out when i was growing them with flouros hanging from the ceiling with the plants on a shelf.

thanks again. i didn't know if the lights wouldn't need to be so close this time because it was in an enclosed area. but now they are... indeed quite close.

went to the store and got some bat guano and some 10-10-10 fertilizer.
called for 1/4 cup or so per cubic foot of soil. but i was very wary of all that so i took out a couple inches of soil in the pots already, added just a sprinkle of the fert pellets on 3 out of 4 of the pots, threw on some bat guano and sprinkled the dirt on top of all that.

we'll just have to see how it goes... and wow.. i don't have a very popular grow log. well people i love you too ;)

so i have on some of my plants noticable leaves sprouting from the nodes.. is this a good sign? a bad sign? does it mean they are males, or just leaves sprouting and its still to early to sex them?

thats something seriously plauging my mind right now, and a friendly fuck you jackass would be nice about now.

thanks

Get a good grow book or read about all the stuff you need to door for your space, temp. control. lighting, pests... read, read, read..

Your plants look great, but they have a long way to go if you want any decent yield out of it. I'm not sure what the verdict is on how potent and decent bud size with only that kind of light.

BukDatAss
04-10-2006, 06:27 AM
yeah they look good right now but LVs right you might need a little more light if plan on getting nice buds. Make sure also that you have the right bulbs (color specturm) for flowering. Nice job tho just keep doing ur homework and you'll get better and better.

i actually went to a book store and got the marijuana growers guide by mel something or other when i got some fert and guano yesterday.

now it said something crazy from what i heard here all the time. its said that if you are using flouros that you need to induce flowering after only a week or two of vegging. I guess ill just see how she does.

i don't want to be posting pictures every day but ill take some maybe the middle of this week or something and get on a weekly schedule.

thanks for the support. I was starting to get a little surprised with all the plants i see here that say ITS ONLY TWO WEEKS OLD and i look at mine and say wtf, i mean WTF.

oh well thanks

yea dont worry you can still grow some good buds you just cant grow them that tall unless you have more lighting cause then your plants wont have enough light to penetrate to the bottom ot the plants. I'm guessing thats why they say dont wait to long for veg stage? dont really know tho but I'm assuming that could be 1 reason, anyways good luck on the grow and yea dont wait to long to go into Flower. Oh I remember Zandor saying that for Flower the bulbs should be around 4000k so look into ur bulbs to see if its close in order for ur plants to produce some nice buds

yeah i said weekly, but they did really well through the night i think. i'm really happy with the progress except for one pot.. it has me somewhat concerned. the pics of it will appear in the next set...

you can see the problem plant all droopy and shit here. i watered the plants only 2 days ago, but i watered them again just a minute ago also.

here is a pic of the soil and the fertilizer that i bought also. i barely put any of the fertilizer in 3 of the pots. just a few pellets, maybe 20 so as to avoid any burning.

the brown on one of plants is because a cfl fell down some and scortched it some so its not a huge issue in my mind.

this is my bat guano with the NPK rating shown and the ever infamous superthrive i was convinced into buying by the big thread about it.

well damn myself to hell.... im certain now that the drooping on those last pics was due to over-watering. not only that but guess what... i watered the shit out of them today also.

im frustrated with myself about that now... well there is no turning back now. i guess i just have to wait and let them dry out for a WHILE

lemme know what you guys think.. can you tell a difference in one day?
i can

adios

i bought a moisture tester, a soil testing kit (which says i have too much of everything NPK each one is too much, and a ph around 6.5 but i really dont trust that empty a capsule of powder into soil water solution and shake shit) and a 150 watt halogen flood light

when i felt the heat comming off of that thing i was really surprised. and the light didnt seem to be even as powerful as the cfls.. i think i may take it back and get some 42 watt warm white cfl bulbs instead.

you guys help me weigh out my options by telling whats good about halogen flood lights... if anything at all that is....

thanks

No its good for nothing go and return that halogen light those are not good for growing

dion
04-14-2006, 02:29 AM
it was long gone the moment i read that... ty man, i got a 42 watt warm white cfl added to the mix now.

my plants are acting strange, will explain tomorrow

this is my problem plant as of now, some kind of burn to it. im really baffeled by this one guys. is it a heat burn from that damn halogen light or is it from nutes (of which i barely put any on at all, a good liquid substitute recommendation would be appreciated, right now im using those shitty granules.)

ill show some other pics of how they are doing.

Dion

04-14-2006, 03:32 PM
i covered up my gargantuan hole. i cut a hole in the side put my little fan up in there facing outwards to promote suction. then i noticed the heat wasn't directed away enough so i covered it up with a box and put a hole in the side of it away.. you can see how its set up in these pictures.

then here are some pics of my best plant which my lovely beautiful girl beat the shit out of and ripped a leave to hell and back. but its ok it'll be fine.

dion
04-14-2006, 03:39 PM
here are the other two plants as they are today.

they have been reading completely moist except for the biggest plant which sucks up water better i guess so i haven't watered them since i complained of overwatering. im gonna let them dry out very well this time. the top layers of soil are very dry and crispy already but those damn roots are still very wet. ill let them get oxygenated before i continue onwards.

im growing concerned about the size of my grow space, but i guess i can bent the stems and hold them down, but this presents a future challenge. i got to stay stealth with all this business here, but all i can do now anyway is throw a blanket on top of it and say "weed, what weed?"

oh well thanks for all the looks and thank you very much for the comments.
someone tell me about the stretching situation. what does it look like now?
im getting small stalks growing out of the nodes so when am i going to be able to tell wether or not its male or female, i dont want to fuck this up after all the time i spent into it. you know, if you are gonna spend that much money on something then you want to reap what you sow.

Hey all! I'm a newb to growing and want to know if having an Air Filter/Ionizer helps or harms the plants in anyway. My thinking is that it will help with the smell or help circulate air around. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

its all very nasty and what not, but i had a little ionic breeze car purifier once and i had fast food left in my car in the hot texas summer for like 3 days and i was alway smoking in my car and whenever i hopped back in there it was smelling like fresh air.

i love ionizers, but i think im partial to the ionic breeze, unless they all work that well.

hey man thanks, i always dig on that signature of yours.
life is life first and foremost, but burnin a joint now and again doesn't make you livin your life evil. i hear you old dude, but more than that, i understand. im gonna have a little girl any day now and that makes you think about a lot of stuff. but its people like you that need to talk to people like me, and if we don't listen to what you say what else can you do? not a thing, but thats the way she rolls huh?

thanks for the A-ok, did you happen to notice the pic of my plant that has the burn all on the top of it?

are you useing tin foil it might be a burn from a hot spot caused by the way foil reflects light i have had that prob now i use white paint inside my grow box no hot spots also mirical grow soil retains alot of water careful its easy to over water also if your gonna go floro i use a 125 watt envirolite 39.95 as my main light source and 4 ft floro tubes [3]
good luck

dion

it is a reflective safety blanket so no hot spots (i read about foil). where did u get that light man sounds good to me. and it is miracle grow soil so i guess i'll just be careful of that.

what i want to know is what is guano tea. sounds good to me...what ratios is it mixed and also what is a good liquid fert. i already use superthrive.

thanks for the question man it certainly does look like foil. i have come to find out that during the day my old lady found a light on the burned plant, thus in my mind the conception of a heat burn.

ok i no longer have 2 plants in 1 pot at the same time.. good for me.

i put the best 4 plants into 1 gallon buckets that i got from the dollar store. i bought a timer which i haven't set up because one of my fans has to be manually turned on regardless. (i may just have to buy another that will work with the timer) i got a bunch of granite which i put an 1 1/2" or 2" on the bottom of each pot to promote better drainage.

I BOUGHT DIFFERENT POTTING SOIL AND REPOTTED EVERY PLANT, NO LONGER HAVE MIRACLE GROW (my only problem with it seemed to be water retention in the first place though) i got some 10-30-20 flowering fertilizer that is water soluable that god and i just decide that bat guano tea is when i put some damn guano in water and let her rip.

i tied down 4/6 plants very slightly so as not to soley promote upwards growth for one cola ;) and ill take a new picture of what it looks like on the inside, very cramped and i really am not sure if i can continue in this box for the duration of the grow. we will just see about that when we get to that point though.

layer ill get a pic in a second and tell me whats up if nothin else.

thanks again guys
