View Full Version : How pot-friendly is Vancouver?

I've heard good things about Vancouver, BC, but I'm not sure how much is myth.

Are there really cafes where you can purchase strains to suit your cravings? Can you smoke in public?? Should my friends and I make a trip there and indulge in our favorite pastime???

I know that BC is beautiful, so regardless of their pot law enforcement, I want to go anyway. I was just wondering what it would be like there. I'm from puritan old Massachusetts, and looking for a fun trip closer than Holland. Thanks!

If you want to go within the next month it'd say go to the DEA conference May 8-11 in Montreal. It's where the next major pot smoking event is. On May 6th there is the Million Marijuana March in both cities (more cities as well 191 right now). But yes go to Vancouver... go to the BCMarijuana party building and you can use thier Vapor Lounge. It is illeagal in Canada to have/smoke marijuana... but they are not like americans in punishing people who do smoke... don't be an ass and don't go around showing it off and you should be ok. But if you go to Vancouver you'll love it... there's cafe's -It's not call Vansterdam for nothing. I'd wait though... I think I'm gonna go for the DEA conference - It's going to be huge!!!

Our dumbass ass DEA is going to Canada where they hate what they are doing and they are going to fight back... this is where marijuana users are fighting back against the 'war on drugs' ....

you can't buy in stores but "blunt brothers" on east hastings st. has (had?) a toking room where people go into for catching a buzz and discussing whatever...e. hastings will be the place to go for that type of stuff but it has toned down a lot over the past few years and no longer is as open as it once was. stanley park is another one of the old hangouts and not far from hastings and the downtown area. contact the sativa sisters and the new amsterdam bed & breakfast...they can fill you in on the current situation and put you up in their awesome b&b!

another good place to check out the scene there without actually going is at www.cannabisculture.com
it's marc emery's site and an online hangout for bc locals...
