attached is the 3 inch hail that hit our house and vehicles, our roof is damaged thanks to these damn hail balls so its insurance time! the twister touched down a mile away from our home and we heard the freight train noise and i thought we were goners, so i thank the lord that me and my family are still here hense a huge tree fell on my mothers roof but she is ok for being the only person home, makes you look at life in a different light let me tell ya..........

Howdy sweet,

Yup..I've been praying for y'all up there:thumbsup: And I will continue to pray for y'all, because there's still alot of tornado season left. I think that y'all are gonna have to consider gittin a storm shelter or construct a safe room, because it seems to be a trend happening up there, with the changing weather patterns that we currently have.

Have a good one ...

Howdy sweet,

Yer welcome,it's both my honor and pleasure:)

I did a quick google search for storm shelters, this one was at the top of the list of sponsored sites:
http://www.stormxshelters.com/pages/1/index.htm

There are many others, and yer husband may just want to git some plans for a shelter or safe-room,if y'all can't afford one already pre-built. In the mean-time,you might want to consider puttin together a survival kit, complete with a well-equipped medical bag,as well.

Have a good one ! :stoned:

awesome site torog, my hunny is a carpenter so he may be able to make a shelter himself, hes very perspective on his work. but hes gonna look at the site and read what kinda materials to use. im shocked not more people were killed yesterday witht he video of the track of one F4 twister, tore up 5-7000 sq ft houses and it looked like toothpicks everywhere, its so sad.

Howdy sweet,

I'm glad that y'all found that site to be interesting, and I bet that yer husband could do a good job of protecting y'all better, you should do some more searching tho,my search query was "tornado storm shelters",I didn't search for tornado shelter plans. Yup..sometimes even safe-rooms won't help, only an underground shelter will do.

Have a good one !

Howdy sweet,

I did some more lookng around and found a site that has down-loadable FEMA plans for constructing a storm or fall-out shelter.

http://www.myfalloutshelter.com/ Look under the downloads tab in the center of the page.

Have a good one !

a tornado went through my neigborhood...
missed my house by like 20 feet
scariest night of my life
it was a small one

Got it. Gallatin got it bad. Here in Alabama there was some damage but not any deaths that I know of..Birmingham had some reports but I think they were lucky too..thats funny how you described your mom:) How does she feel about tornadoes now? Will she leave next time? Did you guys have early warning? Just curious..

ok first off, oh my goodness @ lookers avatar! lol you gave me a good laugh for the day bro. props......thanks to shelbay, wes XXXX, and thanks looker.
shelbay i was at work at the hospital in my county and they issued a code grey meaning a tornado is in the area and they put us on lockdown. thats when the hail came to the hospital and omg it was crazy, about quarter size there and right down the road where i live my husband took pics of the over golfball size hail around the area where the twister hit. i believe everybody had plenty of fair warning so thats why im glad most made it, the radar images i remember were crazy, tornadoes every damn where! but my mom next time will be awake, she was asleep and i had to wake her up by calling a gazillion times!! but she sees a different light now as well as my family does. so insurance claim here i come for my poor cars and roof and getting ta diggin a storm shelter! and poor gallatin, hit twice in 1 week, and its still not over with until end of may.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Prayer accomplishes nothing! If there is a God who wants the victims to be happy, he'll help them out whether you ask him to or not. But seeing as how this "God" character doesn't seem to be using his magical superpowers to resurrect their dead loved ones or miraculously rebuild their houses, how about getting off your knees and doing something yourself? If you really want to help these people out, send some money or write them a consoling letter. But please don't talk to your invisible friend thinking that's going to help them out somehow. Two hands working can do more than a thousand clasped in prayer.

You don't get the point. Just because someone is in your payers, doesn't mean you expect god to come down and make everything better. sheesh. It's just a sign of repsect and compasion for people in need. Whether you pray to a god, or not, praying can be as simple as being grateful for what you have and remembering those who've lost so much. My thoughts are with the people in TN. Best wishes to everyone.

I live with the philosiphy of "All things happen for a reason"... All affected people are in my prayers,I pray they find something good out of all this and focus on it...

Be strong, god gives us as much as he thinks we can handle,be strong, move forward and prosper...

What's the point of prayer if you don't expect God to react to it?

It's just a sign of repsect and compasion for people in need.
I'm just saying, if you really want to show respect and compassion, get off your knees and go help them. Thinking isn't going to help anybody.

You want to remember those who have lost so much? Then think about the fact that a child dies of starvation somewhere in the world every 5 seconds. Or the fact that 350 people die of AIDS every hour. Why are the people in Tennessee in your thoughts but not the Africans who have it much much worse than they do? Personally, I don't like to waste my time worrying about the hardships of people I don't know and will never meet. Sure, I could spend my whole day reading about and mourning over the miserable lives of complete strangers, but I have a life of my own and I'd like to enjoy it while I still have it.

who ever said that other people around the world aren't in my thoughts? I didn't. I'm very grateful for the life I have and I don't intend on taking it for granted. I've made my post. If you can't understand it then fine. You don't have to do anything. Especially make pointless posts that are aimed at doing nothing but causing trouble where it's not needed.

Oneironaut

What makes you think I just want to cause trouble? I'm giving my honest opinion to someone who told me to pray in order to help others. And that opinion is that the real way to help others is to get off your knees and actually do something. If you don't like my opinion, you are perfectly free to ignore it. Nobody's forcing you to read it.
