Female seeds?

When planting female seeds will they be able to grow by them selves or do they need a male too?

By themselves. Males makes pollen which makes the femsle use its budding energy to make seeds. One male can pollenate an entire crop of females. Females that get pollenated can lose up to 90% of smokable bud.
So kill males on sight.
