Hey, my new bird is into heavy metal, but Ive never really listened to it before - apart from Deftones, Amen and Rammstein. HIM are pretty damn good, but I wanna know what other bands there are that arents screechy like Fear Factory, Korn and Slipknot (I just find that sorta 'music' complete and utter shite).
And I know, Amen arent exactly non-screechy, but I used to be into them a few years ago.
AND NO MARILYN MANSON!!! Hehe.

this is the shit
SLAYER
Angel Of Death
(Lyrics & Music - Hanneman)
Auschwitz, the meaning of pain
The why that I want you to die
Slow death, immense decay
Showers that cleanse you of your life
Forced in
Like cattle
You run
Stripped of
Your life's worth
Human mice, for the Angel of Death
Four hundred thousand more to die
Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Sadistic, surgeon of demise
Sadist of the noblest blood
Destroying, without mercy
To benefit the Aryan race
Surgery, with no anesthesia
Fell the knife pierce you intensely
Inferior, no use to mankind
Strapped down screaming out to die
Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death
Pumped with fluid, inside your brain
Pressure in your skull begins pushing through your eyes
Burning flesh, drips away
Test of heat burns your skin, your mind starts to boil
Frigid cold, cracks your limbs
How long can you last
In this frozen water burial?
Sewn together, joining heads
Just a matter of time
'Til you rip yourselves apart
Millions laid out in their
Crowded tombs
Sickening ways to achieve
The holocaust
Seas of blood, bury life
Smell your death as it burns
Deep inside of you
Abacinate, eyes that bleed
Praying for the end of
Your wide awake nightmare
Wings of pain, reach out for you
His face of death staring down,
Your blood running cold
Injecting cells, dying eyes
Feeding on the screams of
The mutants he's creating
Pathetic harmless victims
Left to die
Rancid Angel of Death
Flying free
(LEADS: HANNEMAN, KING, HANNEMAN, KING, HANNEMAN)
[ Angel of Death
Monarch to the kingdom of the dead
Infamous butcher,
Angel of Death
That song kicks so much ass...... kerry King Would kick all of our asses

Korn is not "sreechy," they have some very good songs. What I you don't like is the metal genre called "Screamo," and the bands that are like that are Trivium, Avenged Seven Fold, In Flames etc. I would recomend the band called Disturbed to you:thumbsup:
Some good songs from Disturbed are
10,000 fist
Guarded
Stricken
Down With the Sickness
The Game
Stupify
Also try System of a Down, there new album mezmerize is very good. Some good songs from these guys are:
Byob
Cigaro
Fuck the System
Deer Dance
Psycho
Needles
Aerials
Prison Song
X
Chop Suey.....pretty much there best work!
Bounce
Toxicity
Most of those are from their "Toxicity" album, but the frist two songs on the are from their new album.
Hope this helps

Screamo is not very good, metal core is good. Metal core consist of bands such as killswitch engage, lamb of god, unearth. These are all bands that are part heavy metal, part screamo (because of the lyrics), and part hardcore. Some awesome hardcore bands to check out are throwdown, terror, and hatebreed. Old skool metal such as Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual (all originate from pantera), black sabbath, guns and roses, metallica ive heard r good (lol i personally hate 'em but all my mates love 'em and loads of people love 'em to, so theyre doing summit right). Some awesome rapcore bands such as hed-pe, rage against the machine, korn and limp bizkit (yes i know but listen to their old stuff like counterfeit, it's awesome), these bands are also known as new-metal. Also listen to some hip hop dude, hip hop and rock/metal are very similair in structures and sounds of the tracks. Don't listen to club r'n'b/hip hop like 50 cent etc, you can do but theyre's much better stuff out there like A Tribe Called Quest, Method Man, Red Man, Wutang Clan, Cypress Hill, Dilated Peoples, Jurassic 5, Dj Abdominal, and Dj Yoda. Hope you get some influence from the bands i've listed here. Have a good time listening to some new stuff dude.

It's pretty much fast Nu-Metal, and the vocalist literally screams the whole time. I think the screaming takes away from the music, because some screamo bands have very good music, just, I can't stand the SCREAMING

I just thought of something, maybe you'd enjoy Blind Guardian... They've got some weird lyrics.
I personally enjoy low, growling vocals:Cannibal Corpse, Gorerotted, Disembowelment, Dying Fetus, Mortician.
Maybe you'd like some black metal:Emperor, Old Man's Child, Agalloch, anything on Ulver's first 3 albums (The newer stuff is crazy techno.)
