I don't know, I love talking religion. Any time I meet up with a highly religious person, we go at it forever. I like trying to pick it apart, and see what their blind;) reasoning is. No matter what though, a very religious person will have an answer for every hole you point out... even if it's just, "Sometimes God does wierd things"
;)

i agree, as usual, wit killabuzz and islander

i love talkin religion.. as far as ive seen so far, the only people who get angry or offended by talkin religion are religious people who dont like you questionin their views... even if theyre only response to a question is "god works in mysterious ways" .... im starting to wonder if when people get offended because u question their belief, if its because theyre insecure? maybe in the back of most peoples minds, they know that the existence of god is questionable, if not down right unbelievable :)

" maybe in the back of most peoples minds, they know that the existence of god is questionable, if not down right unbelievable"

Seems like a very logical reason, to me. I don't understand why people would have a problem discussing their religion, if they believe so strongly in it.

I've had people get up and walk away in the middle of a conversation....A conversation where I was always very polite and considerate of their views....I was simply questioning the whole God/Jesus system and explaining to them, my point of view. 2 People got highly offended for whatever reason and very rudely and abruptly walked away from me without saying anything. GG.

My dad teacher theology for a living and I like discussing religion, Everyone sometimes needs to bite their tounge, and im no different, but I try to be civil. I'd rather talk about it with funny people then serious people because they get to angry. I like to fuck around. Most people cant tell when im joking...

Yeah its a weird thing, one persons joke is anothers blasphemy.
I know I used to get really worked up about religion because of the day i realsied id been had, lied to, coerced and generally fucked around by growing up with 80's moral majority style religion. i was angry and was gonna let everyone know.Im older and (?!) wiser now.

can you explain what "80's moral majority style religion" is?

Being shown "the devil made me do it" about how listening to heavy metal makes you a satanic suicidal nutcase. I agree it gives you poor taste in clothes and hair but c'mon....My mother would cover her eyes and change the channel when KISS came on TV. How evil are they?
My mother endlessly played "praise and worship" music which I maintain to this day has scarred me badly.

I was warned from anything to do with magic, dwarves, dragons etc. Dungeons and dragons made people kill in the name of their character.

Toyota advertised in playboy so a pamphlet she had said. They sold for a volvo.

meanwhile in church and other home group type meetings, people raised their hands, shut their eyes, shouted halayluyah and generally lost it to god in some frightening ways. And they said drugs were bad coz you lost control?
excorcisms. scary scary shit.

At big evengelical auditorium things the yankee minister would pray and ask if anyone felt the call to come down and give their life to jesus. everywhere people were headin on down and givin it up etc.
I went down as a kid not cause i felt the call, but coz i was confused what the fear and confusion i felt was. mustve been god?

does that explain it? maybe thats still goin strong in america.it kinda settled down here.

Actually I think I might be even more confused. I would say that only you know how much god means to you. If you try hard to not sin and try to lead a life that you believe would be praised in the eyes of god. But I'll stress that you should not change who you believe god is truely within your heart. Much of societies influence and teachings of god can end up confusing anyone. It is not so much important for you to understand god. God reveales himself to those that can see. If you are so caught up with the understanding and you are constantly questioning yourself, then you are not doing anyone any good. It is better to find your path by living it in everything you do. Stand tall, believe in god, do not sin, and all will be revealed to you. The most important things is patience. God works extremely slowly sometimes.

i think organized religion is dumb. religion is like a philosophy in life but with too many restrictions

I'll say he's slow. The case for population control; God cant get through the backlog of prayers.

How do you play religious roulette?

You stand around in a circle and blaspheme and see who gets struck by lightning first :D
