I guess wisconsin going to get invaded by bushes neo-cons maybe a staged terrorist attack will make em change there minds....better watch out psycho the be coming for u:thumbsup:

With public support for the Iraq war ebbing and President George W. Bush's popularity skidding, voters across Wisconsin approved measures calling for an immediate withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

The symbolic measures were approved in 24 cities and villages - the first time that residents of several cities in one state had been allowed to vote on the question. But returns on Wednesday showed voters rejected the measures in eight other communities.

The Wisconsin Network of Peace and Justice, a peace group which promoted the referenda, called the outcome a "huge victory."

Tuesday's ballot questions were only advisory in nature and have no binding on Bush or his administration, but they come seven months before midterm elections in which Republicans are fighting to retain dominance in Congress.

"Out now" measures passed 68 percent to 31 percent in liberal-leaning Madison and 55 percent to 45 percent in La Crosse. With populations of 219,000 and 51,000 respectively, they were the two largest cities voting on the question Tuesday.

But the 22,000 residents of Watertown, located between Madison and Milwaukee, rejected a similar measure 75 percent to 25 percent.

Bill Richardson, a spokesman for the anti-referendum group Vote No to Cut and Run said he believed many people had not thought about the implications of the referenda. "They read 'bring the troops home' and thought, 'oh that's good,' they didn't think about the implications of cut and run," he said.

In one closely watched contest, residents of Evansville, population 4,039, narrowly approved a withdrawal proposition 51 percent to 49 percent and rejected a second one calling for troops to remain in Iraq pending "unquestioned victory" -- by the same margin.

In other returns residents of Hayward, Kewaunee, Forestville, Sister Bay, Newport and Egg Harbor also rejected immediate withdrawal ballot questions. But voters in Ladysmith, population 4,000, Mount Horeb, population 5,860, Vermont and Shorewood all approved demands for immediate troop pullouts.

Some individual city governments and other jurisdictions have spoken out on the troop withdrawal measures, the group supporting the referenda said.

Milwaukee, the largest city in Wisconsin, is to place a similar measure before voters in November.

Don't suprise me this is direct from Pissplanet. Do ya remember a while back when they had the peace demonstaters across the country? We had 3 people with cardboard signs standing on the usual protest corner....good for anti-abortionists also. The city I'm in is larger than LaCrosse but ya have to figure that this is a big Democratic state/community.

Say, do me a favor and give me your e-mail address, I'd like to send ya something!

Is there a legitimate reason we're even in Iraq? The Weapons of Mass destruction that haven't shown up? But Saddam was so bad.. he killed hundreds of people. Hmmm, over 30,000 Iraqis have died since the start of this war. But, but, they were probably terrorists! Even if that was true, and not recognizing all the innocent women and children that are apart of that 30,000. If some foreign power invaded my country I definitely wouldnt roll over on my back and let them do whatever they want. This was all started by the tragedy of 9/11 in the first place, a self-inflicted wound. If there's any two people to directly blame on 9/11 it's Bush and Cheney. Anyone who's done their research knows that the official 9/11 story is a joke and our own criminal government is responsible for it.

LOL Except that Saddam DID have wmd and the burden of proof was on him to prove he didn't have them anymore...not ours to prove that he did. Not only did Saddam kill 100's of thousands of people he also supported other terrorists. Regardless of what you think of Bush and 9/11, those are the facts.

So you claim these as facts "Saddam DID have wmd". Oh, this is a fact? The statement that the burden of proof was on Saddam of proving that he didn't have WMD's is absurd. I would think that Saddam allowing weapons inspectors into his country and them saying there's no WMD's would be him meeting his "burden of proof". Weapons inspectors never found anything, and nearly all the weapons inspectors said there were no WMD's at all. Saddam didn't support other terrorists. But hey, the CIA created and funded the Taliban and Al'queda, just look it up. You're very misinformed, not even the government claims those to be facts, lol. "Saddam did have wmd's...those are the facts" lol, that's hilarious.

Well since all of the UN resolutions were for him to prove he got rid of them is placing the burden of proof on Saddam and if you honestly believe the games he played for a decade were compliance then I don't know what to tell you.

Saddam paid the families of suicide bombers that were attacking Israel. Looks like supporting terrorists to me.

A news reporter from Syria claims they were moved to spots in Syria. One of Saddams ex-generals claims they were moved to Syria shortly before the invasion. I guess they were all paid off by the C.I.A. for saying this?

How bout violated seventeen U.N. resolutions?

I know some of you think that Saddam should be nominated for Sainthood but in all actuallity he was an asshole that deserved to be ousted and beheaded!
