View Full Version : I smoke dope, I am a criminal!

I am a typical dope smoker:

Iā??ve been meeting so many people on this posting board, and the more decent people I meet the more upset I get over our current situation. We are, after all criminals, right?

This is not a generalization or exaggeration; this is who I am, what Iā??ve accomplished and how I live. And again, I am a criminal because I smoke dope. If I omit any details, it is simply to help remain anonyms.

Iā??m a Midwest conservative who was raised in a loving family that has always practiced a Christian lifestyle. My parents have been married over 50 years and my older siblings and I are all successful, happy people with wonderful families of our own by now.

Iā??m also a high school state champion athlete, NCAA Div I competitor and highly educated professional with advanced degrees. Iā??m an officer in my local church, father of three, sole provider for my family, married for 18 years and have never cheated on my spouse (and never will). Iā??m prepared for retirement without relying on Social Security and I have my kids college accounts fully funded. I pay my taxes and have never been in trouble with the law (I havenā??t even been pulled over for speeding in over 15 years).

But Iā??m a criminal, because I smoke dope.

I donā??t grow or sell, but have always helped my friends find dope over the years as they have helped me. Iā??m not opposed to growing or selling, but the current risks are too high considering the level of responsibility I assume in caring for my family.

Modern life is stressful enough in trying to get by with no vices. Most people drink or take Prozac (or some other prescription drug) to help cope. After years of research and study, we have determined that smoking dope (at night, in our own home, after the kids have gone to bed) is the safest way for us to relax. We canā??t overdose on dope, we canā??t get addicted to it (aside from some people getting a minor psychological addition that only lasts a few days after you stop smoking regularly), we smoke with a vaporizer or filtered water bong, so we have no cancer risksā?¦

But Iā??m a criminal because I smoke dope.

I hide in the shadows and use code-words to mask our lifestyle when communicating with friends. I struggle like all of you to find quality from honest people. I groan with disgust as I watch our politicians continue to support the alcohol, tobacco and firearms industries (not to mention the oil industry) with open arms as they continue to hunt us down and lock up our friends, ruining otherwise wonderful lives in the process.

If I can drink, why canā??t I smoke? No one with more then a 3rd grade education could possibly make a point that alcohol is better for you then smoking dope.

My doctor will tell me that I need to take a drug for my stress that will knock out my sex drive, then heā??ll give me another drug to ramp up my sex drive to compensate, but he wonā??t tell me that smoking dope will cure my stress and make sex more enjoyable in the process.

Iā??m a criminal because I smoke dope.

I agree, but why do you call it dope. There is millions of better names for it than that. DOPE makes it sound like meth, crack, heroin to me.

A lot of people call it dope....its obvious what the reference was to. Besides, if we start buggin about what people call it, then we are no better than those who whine because we smoke it. Its green, its herb...no matter the name the point is there and defintily true. I've read other posts on here that call it dope and the other day on D.O.G Bounty Hunter (even though I'm not an avid watcher of this program)...it was referred to dope on there as well. I've actually heard green called dope more than other drugs by people -- dope isn't really harsh enough to describe the other drugs you mentioned in my opinion, lol. But, I agree with you about agreeing with this post -- I couldn't have said it better myself.

Exactly
Nice post Johnny. Sounds much like myself. It's pretty ridiculous.
I don't drink, or do any other drugs. I like to puff a fatty in the privacy of my own home. I don't steal other people's property to gain my stash, I work for it.
Just about everybody I've ever known is about the same, so what exactly is it that makes us criminals? In most cases worse criminals than violent offenders.
We can forget about it in this fucking state. After all, it was a letter from the "great" Strom Thermond  to President Nixon concerning pot specifically that got SC actively involved in the war against drugs.
The Lexington Co. sherrif's cars now sport a pot leaf with a red line through it on the side of the car. Gimme a break. Don't get caught screwin around, they will crucify you. Why don't they put a crack pipe with a line through it? In my book, cocaine is the enemy.
But the way things are set up pot smokers are the specific targets, it's all drug screening is really good for. If I am identified as a pot smoker, I can't even get a good job. When, in reality, I can perform my job better than someone who drinks. As they are most likely hungover or in a bad state of mind where I am more creative and thinking on my toes.
Stupid.
/End rant, it doesn't do any good anyway.

peace

Man I see lex sherif cars all the time, but never looked close enough to notice the new logo, but then again, I never look close at the po-po. You and I are obviously in the same area. Perhaps we'll get to hang out sometime and get relaxed? [email protected]

ok, I've been dogged enough for calling weed dope, I'll stop and think of another term to use. I call it dope, because it's what I grew up calling it and it's the only drug I've ever been into long term. But I've seen enough movies to know that the harder stuff is generally called dope.

i grew up calling it dope too. Nowadays if you look for dope, you find crack.

*I saw that mj logo on a car in south congaree. They're some m%$#f*&^$rs down there. The same people who are out there busting the peaceful pot smokers are the ones that are extorting money at the roadside, slashing tires, beating their wives and who knows what else. I hate cops:mad:

i have, at times, thought of joining up with NORML. i guess there is still a midlands chapter. i live in richland county but work in lex. county...i'll look for the leaf logo. it irks me to see the casual smoker...the one not hurting anyone....suffering the most. i know. i lost a good job thanks to drug testing. the jokers caught me off guard, no clean pee in my posession! they wouldn't even listen to my side of the story, just terminated me. i didn't smoke on the job. i did a good job, considered myself a valuable part of a team, and had tons of ideas for improvements. that was all gone thanks to a sample of urine that tested positive for thc metabolites. the MRO treated me as if i were some sort of terrorist, the HR folks were rather snotty acting and my boss was shocked. i told the HR manager in the exit interview that i felt that two constitutional rights were violated and that the company has no right invading my privacy. he replied "policy is policy....we expect our employees to conduct themselves off the job as they would on the job." i guess he isn't referring to the alcoholics, spouse cheaters, speeders, drunk drivers, wife beaters, child abusers, etc. i think those of us that are in town around 4/20 should get together for dinner at yesterday's in five points and discuss joining NORML. just a thought!
