jersey is deff a state that needs to pull together to get medical m.j. we are one of the most populated states in the usa so that means we got alot of people who should qualify for medical M.J.

There are 2 bills currently before committee in the New Jersey Senate & Assembly which would protect medical marijuana patients from arrest and prison. In Feb 2006, Senator Scutari (D-Union, Somerset) and Assemblyman Gusciora (D-Mercer) introduced bills S. 88 and A. 933 (http://www.mpp.org/NJ/bill/). However bill S. 2200, a similar bill introduced by the same senator in Jan 2005, died. So who knows what'll happen.

Things us citizens can do would be to send a postcard (http://www.cmmnj.org/postcards.htm) or letter (http://www.mpp.org/NJ/action.html) to state senators, representatives and/or newspapers.

I'd be so happy (and proud) if we joined California and other states in establishing medical marijuana laws to protect patients and doctors.

I don't know what the hang up is. why is marijuana viewed as so "evil" compared to alcohol? The politicians need to get over it and do the right thing:rasta:

because the government has to control some aspect of life and i think they think if they make osmething "evil" then people will stop using it but thats tottally wrong tell a kid he can do something he will do it tell him not to do the same thing he is more then likely to do so u see all these stupid ass commercials on tv about not smoking drugs or pot can make u do stupid shit i aint done no stupid shit when iwas high so why portray it as something evil they do it to make people scared and the kids see dont do it and they will do it for the fact of if im not allowed to do it it must be fun

I live in Jersey, The fuckin stipid ass government should legalize it, Thyed make money off it anyway, all they would have to do, is tax it the same way they tax ciggs

::sending postcard::

i'm all for it. though i think overall quality would probably go down if it were mass produced.

could u imagine if it were federally legalized and they started selling packs of 20 j's like they sell cigs now? the world would stop going to war with itself, imho.

lol 20 j's in a pack that would be some shit wouldnt it it wouldnt nessicarially stop the world going to war on itself because you still have things that are illegal in the world and the people who want that shit legalized will still be at war but for use stoners hippies pothead burn-outs what have u the war would be won

they already had tax stamp for cannabis in other states so i dont think it would be to hard to adopt it for us

that's exactly right. it would not be hard for the government to turn a profit on cannabis. look at what they've done to cigs. i know that at least new jersey and ohio both have a $1 per pack tax on them(lived in both). u gonna try and tell me that they cant do the same for pot because what? it's green? come on.

the fact is that ever since the jimmy carter administration left office, drug catagorization decisions have been made not by medical professionals, but by lawyers, law enforcement officials, and politicians. basically, no one that knows jack shit about the substance itself or it's affects on the human body. this is y it's still a "schedule 1" narcotic; right up there with herion. as long as it stays in that catagory, it will NEVER be legalized. and u can rest assured that as long as the republicans r in the white house, that's not gonna change.

sorry to be so negative, but that's the hard truth imo.

Yes there are states with tax stamp laws.... but there are no actual stamps to be had.

it was a way of making MJ illegal in the '30's without actually making weed illegal, the crime was having weed without the stamp, but u could not get the stamp without the weed... a catch 22.

on the norml site u can go to the state/take action page and sign and send the petition to make Med Mj legal.... this is the first step to decriminalization and eventual legality.

Get Out The Vote! If your state reps realize that u want this and u vote, they will comply in order to keep their jobs!!
