Salvia divinorum plants and extracts are completely legal in most of the US at this time (there are local ordinances against it in some communities in MO), but there is a concerted effort being waged by the DEA and FDA to illegalize it. The DEA has petitioned Congress in mid-June, 2003, to schedule Salvia divinorum. Salvia divinorum may well be illegal in the United States sometime soon. Currently, it is legal to ship to every other country in the world except Australia, South Korea and Denmark, Italy, where Salvia has been made illegal..
It seems that eventally global prohibition will be ended but not before salvia is banned by our ignorant, lie spreading governments. Considering that it is an endangered species, it may be a good idea to buy the plants online while the opportunity is still available. Not only will you be doing your part to protect the species, but if it becomes illegal demand will skyrocket...which means another cash crop for you buisness types ;)
