If you're going to join the military, at least wait until Bush's term is over and this shit in Iraq and Iran is over with. I'm probably going to go for the Army myself at around that time I described, but that's only to uphold a tradition that's been in my family for over the past century. Four years in, then I'm out. No reenlistment.

for you I would recommend the seaman apprentice niche to join in. It gives you an opportunity to see first hand where you wanna go

you could join then later try out for the s.e.a.l.s or the s.w.i.c.k. boat crew with 7.62mm gatling guns,

heck go for air crew in a helicopter with .50 caliber machine guns if you want, but call a recruiter and find out what qualifications you need before you join to get that job

Since you can laugh at death straight in the face there is no better time for you to join the military. Join the Army-pick Infantry and in about 4-5 months you will be rolling down the highway outside of Bagdad in the back of a 5 ton truck and hit an IED and you will either die of be maimed.

You will see the eyes and the limp bodies of every man, woman and child that you have killed.

good choice mate! i'm leaving for navy book camp next tuesday. I was in the same boat you are. i went to college for three semesters lived in a college town for three and a half years. i worked part time, went to school part time, and partied full time. i eventually realized i was going nowhere so i gave the old navy recruiter a call. now i have a plan for the rest of my life. i'm going into the navy to become a construction electrician (seabees) , once i get out, i'll be set for awhile!

before you goto boot camp i recommend you make life hard on yourself for at least a few weeks. sleep on the floor with no pad and no pillow only a blanket or hooded sweatshirt. only eat for health purposes...no soda just water and key nutrician. no sitting in comfortable chairs. walk many miles a day. study rank insignia.

Why you ask....

when you get to boot camp they will try to test your ability not lose your mind and escape from boot camp...very easy to do at great lakes.

that comfortable bunk and variety of beverages and hot food will be all you need to keep your insanity through that hell...

i made it through navy boot camp by following the above info....people around me fled boot camp illegally because they were ill prepared for the "transfer shock"

If you join the military, DO NOT JOIN THE INFANTRY unless you feel like busting your ass and for nothing... Go in to JAG or get some medical training, or training in ANYTHING, there is a good chance you will hate the military so use it to get some training in something you can do outside of it

Also why are some of you so object to thinking that someone might laugh at death? Maybe you dont see it but american media and entertainment de-sensitizes you to violence/death. You ever think someone might not have a ounce of respect for human life and they either can A.) stay in civilization, maybe kill someone, go to jail for life. B.) Join the military, maybe kill someone, get paid, get medals, get training......you pick which one youd rather choose....

I for one could give a fuck if my comrade's brains were on the floor, that kind of thinking in those situations are the ones that will get you dropped just like him. They signed up for the possibility of death and should accept it, got a problem with an image like that? then dont fucking sign up. Dude, Chisme, Are you in England? If so, go ahead and join. The English Army hardly sees any action.

If you are in the US, However, I would recommend the U.S. Army Infantry, also I would recommend the following add-on training: Ranger School, Airbourne School and perhaps Special Forces training if you feel up for it.

Now, let me tell you, you will not be smoking any more ganja because they don't allow it.

Also, at this point in Iraq, I don't think it would matter which branch of the armed forces you are in. Everyone becomes Infantry when they reach Iraq!

Either way, I wish you the best and if you do join you will not regret your decision.....If you really are a drain on Society like you say, this would be a good way to turn things around........or die trying.
