calling all seasoned growers!!

ok ive just returned from my local hydro shop where i was envolved in a big argument with the shops residant 'expert' who swares blind that after 3 weeks of veg and only 8 weeks of flower he can get just about any strain to produce 8/9 oz per plant! He says he does this using NFT hydro set-up under 1400 watts of hps (2x600, 1x400 for 6 plants) and in 11 weeks from clone he gets 54ish oz's of bud from his 6 plants! Oh yes and he says the plants are no more than 3 foot high! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm has anyone ever had results anywhere near this as i dont believe a word this guys says. 9oz from a 11 week old plant no more than 3 foot tall, not scrogged? is this possible?
for my part i laughed at him.... perhaps i was wrong!

that sound pretty far fetched to me too was he trying to sell you the setup he says he used

If ya wiegh it wet it may be possible. Unfortunatly he is going to lose 80% in heft when it dries.

Actually its more along the lines on 70 - 75 % to nit pick lol.

If this guy was trying to sell you this set up... then i'd imagine that hes making it all up to try and sell it to you..

I don't argue with people about yield...I know how much I yield and that is all that matters.
With optimum conditions and many thousands of dollars of equipment...I think it is possible...My last big DWC plant yielded almost 6 ounces(after drying) and I don't use co2...I have gone to perpetual cloning and will not grow that big anymore, ......too much chance of herm's unless you really police the chit out of them.imho

BUT possible,,, especially if he works in the shop and has access to all the extras..

I have witnessed 5lbs(dry) in 11-12 weeks from 2,200 watts in a 4x6 room.
There were about 40 plants 18-24 inches tall. (started as rooted clones)
Aeroponic setup.

a 3ft plant not lst or scroged i think he may be telling porkies there , its a bit much, from a 11 week grow gotta be tellin porkie pies,was he fat , he may even have ate the pies, the postman.

I say the next time your there, buy what you went to buy and keep your mouth shut. Yes, there are high yielding strains what will yield what he states but high potence strains aren't likely. Remember this "the stonger the poison the smaller the bottle". Anyway, you don't want any attention brought to you at these stores. Get in pay CASH and get out. No matter how friendly the staff may be they are not your friends. So, go in with your facts already get your items and run.
