All the sudden my i pod will not work. It will not turn on so when I hold down the middle button the apple comes on then after like 30 seconds to a minute a molina envelope with exclamation point (I think that is what it is) pops up then it will not work. Can anyone please tell me what the problem is. Thanks

my friend had the same thing happen, needed to send it it... the only thing i can offer you that could possibly works is to reset the ipod, but the proceedure to reset it is different with the different models, id post a link, but i just woke up, so cut me some slack,
what gen. ipod is it
If its run out of battery then it needs to be sent off to get a new one because normal ones dont work. apple made them like this because of their dwindling sales, so if you want an iPod you have to get a new battery like every year... and it costs alot... thats why i stick with my CD player
that happens to me all the time, all i have to do is plug it into my computer, and it starts working again

I'm very displeased with apple. All I was told, both in the store and in the pamphlet, was that I had a one-year warranty. but I guess I missed some tiny print burried in the back, because my battery life has dropped to about 2 hours and now because I've had it over 6 months of my 1 year warrantee, they want me to pay $45 shipping and handling just to send it in. what a load of crap, it wouldn't cost them $45 anyway.

That is just one reason that Apple was sued over the iPod: The non-user replaceable battery, along with the frivolous hearing damage suit and the non-frivolous clickwheel that gives people RSI. Fortunately, the battery is user replaceable: http://www.ipodbatteryfaq.com/#2

Yeah no one should buy an iPod they're shit. I regret my purchase to this day and most of the time when I listen to music I bring a dc player. The only handy thing about iPods is that they hold alot of songs. But zen holds the same amount for half the price and are much better. I would have bought a zen but they don't work with macintosh computers. But this is irrelavant because you alradfy had one.

The only problem is that opening an ipod, voids the warrenty and is a pain in the ass, and almost impossible to do without scratching, and denting it up, and if you happen to break or damage anything inside you will be better off buying a new one then getting apple to fix it. I wouldn't do it.

But it's obvious that the warranty is useless to him if he doesn't get the battery replaced.

It's only useless if you don't send it in.

Yeah. I live in a mostly preppy school district and anyone who wants to be like everyone else (it makes you cool!) has one. One once said to me You only hate it because everyone else has one to which I replied No, I hate it because it sucks ass, or something similar.

But according to the media and society, being able to listen to music everywhere is cool, and shows status...

And I hate when people type "h8". How much time does it really save? It takes me longer to find 8 then to type ate.
Anyways, the iPod has hurt people. Not only can you bash someone's head in with one (there has been at least one account of a man being murdered by his crazy girlfriend by bashing his head in with an iPod), they give people repetitive strain injury from its clickwheel. The music it puts out is literally bad too, something many people forget to analyze. It's been proven that when compared to it's competitors like the iRiver H series and the SONY Network Walkmans, it has poor sound quality. It would hurt their owners pocket if they weren't all "well-to-do", also: Although it comes with no extra features (and already overpriced), you can add a radio for fifty damn dollars or a mic for twenty damn dollars.
The only reason you have an iPod is because Apple has spent many more tens of millions of dollars than its leading competitors in advertisement. I could just say, "Fuck it, I don't care if all the people (idiots) in the world have iPods and complain about it but don't realise there are better DAPs out there, use iTunes and complain about it but don't realise there are better music management programs, and listen to crappy mainstream music but don't realize how crappy it is because they've never heard any real music, it doesn't affect me," but it does affect me to an extent and I am required by my character to make it known that the iPod is totally geeaayyy.
