Busted... doggone it...

Hello guys,

I hope all of you are in great condition and health when you read this.

I my self, well, I'm good physically, but pretty shaken up.

Yesterday... yesterday was bad. Really bad. Got-busted bad.

The good thing, as far as I can see, is that no cops have gotten involved... yet.

Story: So, I was moving stuff between my apartments... because I'm, um, moving. Anyways, I had everything almost ready and set-up over in the new place. I had moved all the nutrients, boxes with electrical stuff... the box with water stuff (pumps, hoses, etc.). I moved the ballast (heavy thing). I moved the big grow box... the fans... EVERYTHING.

The only thing that was left, was the small mother cabinet. I paced my clones in a small jar, with water, so they could make the trip (roughly 1 hour). With that, I put a thick blanket over my mother cabinet, loaded it up into my car, and drove off....

Little did I know the turn of events that where unfolding at that precise moment in my new crib....

You see, where I'm moving now, it's an apartment... it's rented... and it's just been remodeled. Well, when I went to see the apartment, I made a list of a couple of things that needed fixing (water leaks, creaky doors, missing bulbs, etc.). Fine.

Most of those things got fixed on time... but, I took delivery of the keys to the apartment two days ago, and I moved the growing stuff. I was leaving all my other stuff for next weekend, when a couple of my brothers will come help me out. Next weekend, I planned on moving the TV, clothes, sofas, dinning room table and chairs... appliances... etc... all the crap.

So, I was happy and dandy because as soon as I got back to my new apartment, I was going to place the clones under the 400W MH and start the grow... or so I thought.

I drove perfectly... 55MPH... no smoking... nothing strange... cool as can be. Got to the new place fine... When I get there, and I park downstairs, I immediately know something's up... WHAT THE FUCK?!?!

THERE'S PEOPLE INSIDE THE APARTMENT!!!!! WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK?????

So, I go down, leave the mother and clones in the car... and go check out what's going on... SHIT!!!

The landlord lady, god damn it!, she opened up the apartment WITHOUT my permission so the handy man could fix two or three things on the ToDo list.

Well, it's pretty fucking obvious they opened up the growing room... lo and behold!!! GROWING STUFF!!!

.... I can just imagine what crossed their minds... I'm sure they didn't know what the fuck all that stuff was for... but, slowly, things clicked... an indoor garden.

Oh fuck!!!

When I go upstairs, there's the landlord lady, the "owner" of the property, the building's "superintendent", two husbands, two sons, and a small girl inside "my" new place... WTF????

All of them, tell me that they've seen what's in the room, and they're pretty much sure I'm going to use it for something illegal.

I was speechless, to say the least.

What the fuck? How could this be? What are my rights? Can I kick them out? Should I kill my plants? Should I ... ???? WHAT?!

Oh shit, I thought.

This was bad.... this IS bad,... really, REALLY bad. We all gathered around (no tables/chairs), and, basically, they feel the need to "help" me be good in society. Somehow, they see their mission as helping me suprass this "evil" that has made me grow.

A Few Facts:
1- I've never admitted, nor told anybody that I'm growing. Growing ANYTHING. I just, didn't answer these questions. Silence.
2- I don't know how much "in my right" am I to do as I please inside this apartment, as it's rented...
3- Nobody has seen, or knows where the mother cabinet is... nor the seeds.

They told me that I have to uphold the 1year contract I signed the other day... and that they're going to have bi-monthly "inspections" of the aparment to make sure I'm not growing anything.

They, basically, blackmailed me into doing as they want. (Or so they think... I still have to talk with my lawyers). They told me that, if I decide NOT to let them inspect the apartment every 2 weeks, they'll call the cops and tell them everything.

I'm thinking, that this sucks major dick. For various reasons.

What the fuck am I supposed to do? Live for the rest of my life with the insecurity that maybe one of those assholes will speak? Talk about me?

At the same time, fuck them!

But, fuck me!

I don't know... the mother cabinet has been temporarily moved to a new, undisclosed location... the clones, well, I killed them, as they had no real chance of doing anything...

I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do, but I'm POSITIVE a LOT of my rights have been violated... isn't there a legal term, like "Fruit of the Poisoned Tree" or something?

I aint' going to live for 1 year with those dickheads getting into my aparment every 2 weeks... and I ain't going to get busted... right now, if cops where to search me, they would find some paraphenalia (a bong, pipes, some buds) and that's it... oh yeah, and a lot of growing equipment. They won't find plants, plant matter, and/or seeds. Those are all in a safe place.

Right now, I need to talk with my lawyers... people that know the law... to see what are my options... but, I'm thinking of somehow, if possible, cancelling the signed contract, then getting a new place... ASAP.

Turtle, sorry to hear, man. That sucks.

If they want you to hold up your end of the lease (meaning you have to rent for a year), then tell them they have to hold up their end (which I'm sure states that they can only enter if they give written notice and only to show the place to prospective tenants, which wouldn't apply because you just moved in.)

I think the best thing to do would be to say, "Hey, I'm not comfortable with you in my apartment every 2 weeks. I feel that it's an invasion of my privacy. Let's all agree to terminate the lease and move on."

They have nothing on you legally and if they did call the cops the cops probably wouldn't be allowed to search your place. But you don't want to get into a whole legal fiasco.

I think the best thing to do would be to find a new place. No one wants a landlord up their ass and in their business every two weeks, no matter whether or not anything illegal is going on in the apartment.

Holy fuckin shit........turtle im upmost sorry to hear of this horrible news. Man thats total fuckin bullshit that they think they can just have u on the end of a string. The thing is, i used to live in an apartment and with the hell i used to raise and parties thrown im pretty sure they have the right to inspect the apartment because you my dear friend are renting out their apartment, which shittly makes it still their property. Everything that is in your apartment excluding toilets,doors walls, etc. belongs to you. But at the same time in any situation there are loop-holes so we never know. I think talking to your lawyer would be the best bet. Because really i think since they didnt see any cannabis u should go do this with your lawyer.

---go to home depot get a couple vegetable plants like uhhhhhhh tomatoes (not seeds, plants) and grow them in there

---make some kind of false documents that say u are starting a small business(dont say u are running the business out of your apartment...because u cant do that) producing large oversized organic tomatoes. Because i know that you being an intelligent person like myself can make something like this.

---take your lawyer to the front office and yall sit down and have a little talk about it all

First of all, did they see any plants? If not, tell them to go to away or you're going to sue them. If they did, wait a month, put all your stuff somewhere else that's safe, then get out of the lease and leave.

I agree with the idea of growing veg. Get some Yam bulbs/seeds, potatoes, sweet potatoes... hell, any vegetable that you like. Just tell them that you prefer to grow your own food as its a lot healthier (no additives, preservatives, artifical crap, fertiliser) and after a while theyll probably back off.

Lets look at this from a common sense point of veiw ;) ................ The landlord has seen nothing illegal ?, you've broken no terms of the contract for the apartment. What does the contract say about inspections ? ......... Just my view but I see the only right's to inspection of the property as being on the contract, the landlord has no right's to change a contract without court action.


Anyway Turtle love :) ........... the things that they saw were just stuff a friend was storing with you, and there gone now, He's taken them back ;)

if inspections are not in the contract stated every 2 weeks then the contract is null and void. Just stach you stuff or plant some tomatos and move out and don't give a forwarding address. Rent a storage shead if you need to it should only take a few day's.

Damn turtle that hurts me I know you just got the hang of things and not this big BS. Man if I were in ur situation, I would either try to ditch that new apartment and tell them that(if you find a new placeand can move in ASAP) thier violating my priviacy I dont feel comfortable with them inspecting ur apartment every 2 weeks or month etc... and say thet you do grow veggies for health reasons make up an excuse. Try to break off the contract by making them feel guitly for accusing u of shit(know ur rights for u could move). Even if they say ok fine "sorry" we wont check up on you, BS, they can make any excuse whenever they want about trying to remodel a new part in your apartment just to get a look at things. Dont go for the apartment IF YOU DO PLAN ON GROWING. Well in the lease of a renting contract states that your property is your local police's property to search. If that was true, the onwers had 100% to be in their because it states it in 95% of renting contracts. I was then going to say, go to wal-mart and guy like 100 tomtoe and plant seeds and start a big ass grow. So when they come back they will see you are growing non-illegal plants. One reason I didn't belive your reason from the ebgining was that you had no plants in the house only growing supplies. It is 100% legal to own this kinda supplies unless you are growing illegally which they didn't see. Another thing was when you sat down with them they said they will beable to search you apartment when veer they want, well I would have said no! and they then would have cancled contract right? If not why would they ask if they couyld search every 2 weeks or month. Then I would have told them to suk me up ;)... Good one tho!

Sure I know cops can make up there own laws and take your plants but there are plenty of ways to beat a case. The only hard part is making bail. Sure they never should kidnap your kids in the first place but if you play your cards right most cases can be thrown out. There are alot of loopholes in the good faith section of the forth amendment
