More than two dozen students walked out of Skyline High School Friday morning to protest what they say is a ban that doesn't allow the American flag to be flown on school grounds.

Several students said that they were upset that Mexican flags can be waved around but that American flags couldn't. They said that school officials confiscated their American flags because it has become inflammatory because of recent immigration issues.

"When the immigration laws came out we noticed that a lot of Hispanics were waving Mexican flags and what we were thinking to ourselves is like, isn't the immigration law to stay in the country? You want to stay in America, correct? So I said, for every Mexican flag, you should have an American flag right next to it. So a few people went out and started waving American flags, and that's where everything bridged out," said Skyline student R.J. Fogal. "That's when they started telling us that we can't wave American flags, there's going to be no flags today, or everyone is going to be suspended -- whoever carries a flag."

"What we want to know is since when was it against the rules to have an American flag on a car, in a car, in your hands in a school?" said student William Cassity.

Skyline principal Tom Stumpf said that the school enacted a ban this week that prohibits students to display, wear or fly any flag -- American or Mexican.

"The (policy) evolved because the flags were being used, not as a symbol of cultural heritage, but the flags were being used as symbols of bigotry, a symbol of hostility. They were being used to inflame different groups and we're simply not going to tolerate that at Skyline High School," Stumpf said.

"My paramount obligation, my solemn obligation at Skyline High School, is to provide a safe and secure environment and with the flags being used as a catalyst to stir up the students, to stir up the environment, I cannot condone that ... One flag was thrown into the face of another group and another flag was being brandished in front of another group and it was done to raise emotions, and we don't want that. We want respect -- that's our main goal at Skyline High School," he said.

The school has a diverse population and some students say there have been tensions between different ethnic groups because of the national immigration debate.

"I think our whole society is on different sides of the immigration issue and I can't control that. All I'm asking from our students is respect -- respect for one another, treating each other as they themselves want to be treated, treating each other decently, civilly," Stumpf said.

He said the students have a right to rally and those who walked out of class on Friday would not be punished.

This story just goes to show just how crazy pc'ism has become,I also read another story,where a student was charged with arson,for burning a mexican flag,that had been raised over the American flag,which had been turned upside-down,at the student's school in Apache Junction,Arizona.

United States flag code says that schools must display the American flag,and this principal should be ashamed and he should be fired.

Why not try solve the problem or at least come to some agreement obiviously there is some tension between the mexicans and the americans and I don't think they will put up the flag until they at least can try and come up with some sort of plan or solution.:confused: I know this may sound easier than doing it but something needs to be sorted out.:thumbsup:

The reality of those rallies is that it is just a bunch of illegals, and some people who are citizens(morons) that for some reason think this is good for security, and the economy... Mexico's second biggest income(1st is oil, and 3rd is Tourist) is Mexicans sending money back from the US to there famlies in Mexico. people say omg the prices of everything will skyrocket( yes this is true but the longer you ignore the problem, the lower wages go the more illegals do the work and the less the end price rises, and the bigger the jump is when the problem is fixed.) the reality is that none of these compaies could operate in the US with citizens working in the fields for them... We are basically outsourcing jobs in our own country... People say Americans have lost their edge and dont work hard, what do you expect when you are raised in this society (just watch tv for 20 minutes, and ask why people here are lazy) we have gadgets for our gadgets, and gadgets to control the gadgets that control the gadgets. It's not there fault... It's ours, you can't blame them for jumping a fence to find work... becasue thats what they come here to do... illegals dont contribute much to crime for fear of deportation... You can blame law enforcement and lack of funding/caring for the last hundred years... now heres a serious problem because us companies are able/ ahve been able to keep wages the same or lower than ever, meaning it doenst force them to adapt new technology, and practices that other comapies do... so the only way to stay in business revolves around having people that make below minimun wage do the majority of the work... but allowing that to happen just amplifies the problem.

I always wonder about those folks running aound waving the Mexican flag because they are pissed off they might not be able to stay in the U.S. If they're so hip on being Mexican go back to Mexico. Having pride in your heritage is one thing but isn't this kind of like biting the hand that feeds you?

Reminds me of something that happened in San Francisco a few years back. A bunch of students walked out of several, predominantly Hispanic, high schools demanding that a class in Mexican history be taught-in Spanish. They claimed that the school system was denying them a chance to learn about their heritage and culture. Fortunately this was before the big pc craze got too far out of hand and the Superintendant actually had some balls. He made one statement saying that this was America and American history would be taught. If the students didn't like it they didn't need to come back. End of story. That pretty much put an end to it and the kids were back in class the next day.

That being said, I actually agree with the decision of the school officials for not allowing the students to wave American flags around. Their primary responsibility is to ensure student safety, not promote patriotism. The ban was on all flags, not just American ones. I see this as being the same as not allowing students to wear gang colors. They're just trying to prevent a potential volitile situation between two opposing groups. Whether these groups wear red and blue or wave Mexiacn flags and American flags is irrelevant. And, I'm sure this ban was just for the kids and that the official Flag was still proudly displayed outside of the school.

America is founded on good principles. Freedom and the Bill of Rights. Criminals are taking over and have been for several years, at least since the early 20th century. Over 99% of the mainstream media is propaganda. Most American citizens are being conditioned. But at the same time most American citizens are patriotic and kind-hearted people. They are just being fooled. It is obvious our government played a large role in 9/11, its obvious our wars on terrorism are wars of aggression with the goal being ethnic cleansing of the middle-east, taking over oil reserves so they can slow down the production of oil to gouge prices, and condition America and the world for wars in the future. America, the UN, and the world are being run by globalists and globalist bankers. I still have faith in America and I believe it is worth defending and preserving. The pro-amnesty actions of our President is just another example of how the New World Order wants to destroy the United States. They're going to get millions and millions of mexicans here, there's already over 20 million here. Then somebody's gonna sneak a biological weapon or something across the border and cause a terror attack. Then the US will round up as many mexicans and and even american citizens(hispanic american citizens mostly) and put them in concentration camps. And the majority will be all for it because the media will not cover anything close to reality and fear will be used to continue the "government needs to protect us.. and we must sacrifice some liberty for safety". It's funny how they say terrorists hate our freedom and their goal is to destroy freedom, so we counter that with violating the Bill of Rights.
