NEWB to growing from FL... need some general help, please

Hello Hello....
new to the growing scene, really need a some help.
I almost bought a indoor setup today, but really wasnt sure that i was going to spend all that money on the right thing. Not really all that sure on how the process of all this growing really works. I mean i understand, but there are a bunch of things that I have questions about.

For an Indoor setup, what do I really need? I am going to set up in closet about 4ft x 6ft x 7ft.

I've read a bunch of articles that talk about cloning, and germinating, and not really to sure of what they mean by that. The cloning really throws me off.
I figured the germinating was basically letting them sprout.

I also read that there are male and female seeds, and that only one produce what I need. Not sure on how to tell difference.

Hope I am not bugging the forumn w/ all these questions, but I really appreciate any help.

hey SJA......i got alot of questions too but i got the planting and sprouting thing down pat. as the plant grows i ask around for help. as far as indoor growin in a closet........not for me......a friend of mine is growin in his extra bedroom and you can smell it as soon as u walk in the door of the house. he says im crazy........but it does stink up a house.....or maybe i got a good nose.....lol. u cant beat the florida sunshine.......can u find a spot outside. i think thats the best.........it is for me anyway.

Cloning is when you cut branches off a plant, and plant that branch, which will then form into a plant.

So say you have 5 plants, you can take 2 branches from each plant and have 10 clones, for a total of 15 plants.

Indoor grow room you firstly need lighting, something to put the plants in, some good soil unless your going hydro, and theres a lot of other stuff that you can get, but thats pretty much the basic equipment you really need.

I'm pretty sure theres no such thing as seeds that are male and female, or atleast no way to tell if a seed will be a female or male. But when you grow then you will find that there are male plants, and female plants. Males are bad and will produce no smokeable bud, females are what you wan't. Also males polinate the female plants which gives the buds a lot of unwanted seeds and reduces the THC levels.

Male and female are pretty easy to tell the difference. Just search for some pictures online, I'd post some but I don't have time. Basically male has small pods, and females get little hairs.
