new to the whole growing scene. I was going to purchase and indoor system today, not sure that I was really purchasing the right system for the money. Really not too sure as to what i need to help it really grow. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

I agree. You can never learn too much, and there is much to learn before getting into growing. It's not exactly something you just jump into.

Agreed, if you want to get a quarter from your plant, grow without any knowledge.
If you want to harvest several ounces per plant, read, read and read again. Ive been growing for a month or so now, and have read everything in the basic and indoor growing section. Now I know how far to keep the light away from my plants for maximum yield, how much humidity I need, how often to water, what nutes to use, when to use them, when to flush, what soil to use (NO MIRACLE-GROW!), what temperature I need, how long to veg and flower, when to harvest, topping, pruning, FIMMING, sidelighting, SCROG/SOG, transplanting, taking cuttings, rooting, bugs...
The forums here are much better than any book you could buy. If all the information here was sold as a book, it would be priceless.

By the way, as for an indoor growing system...

How many plants are you planning to grow?
Where - in a closet? How big is the closet?
Whats the temperature of the closet in summer and winter?

For a closet, either a few CFL's/energy saver bulbs will do for a small grow - 1 or 2 plants - but ideally you want a HPS/MH setup. The bulb will cost about £15 for a 600w (400w is best for a closet though, I have a 600w HPS and mylar in a closet and the temperatures are barely manageable), the ballast will cost about £30 for a decent second hand one, and the reflector will be £15 brand new.
£60 for a decent setup (£70 including mylar) where you can get at least 3-4 ounces every few months, or spend £120 a week for an ounce? Ill go with the growing, thanks.
