I think I may have heard or read about cloning just using perlite and water. would this work? also, if you have any, please list any other low-tech cloning methods that have high success rates. thanks

You can clone using just a cup of water....

Dr. Van...
Are you talking about filling a cotainer with a perlite/soil mixture and keeping it very moist and using this as your medium for cloning?

It will work... BUT you will give your plants added support if you can get some wilt spray or a dome to keep the hunmidity up...

: )
good luck

I clone in perlite and water only. And it works beautifully. I have tried the glass of water, bubblers and pumps. By far the easiest and idiot proof method is perlite and water.

So to answer your question, yes it can be done and I prefer it to other methods now.

with perlite and water, maybe u can punch a couple hole in side of styrofoam cups a 1/4-inch from bottom,so wen u water,it keeps a small amont of water i bottom of cup, thats the way a feww people were growin in perlite only,in a post at overgrow.good for cloning?....peace moons/xxxxxxxxx
