I finally made a screen for my scrog. This is where i am going to need a lot of advice i ahve never done this before but i kinda think i have a good idea. FEEDBACK PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ tahnkz

looking good bro , its going to get busy in there , lol i would bring the screen down a bit so the plants bend under it and have the plants groweing in a clockwork directoin having the side shoots going in towards the middle, that is the point of scrog so you get better yeilds from buttom bud sites, this is just my opinion one of the pros will probibaly give you better info but i will defenetly be following this grow keep it up , the postman.

When do you plan on getting HPS?

Do you know if your space can take the heat the HPS will produce?

125W wont dissapoint in yield if you know what to expect with CFL. An HPS of course, will be better, pricier, and hotter.

You can always flower now and add the HPS later.

i was probably gunna get the HPS tomorrow but at the same time i already cant control the DIRTY SOUTH heat during the day. So i think i will just wait till my next grow and get a bad ass one. OMG i just went and checked my plants and it is like 93 degrees in there. I cant have this happening especially if im bout to start flowering. What can i do to keep the temp okay in there? Also i just switched it to 12/12 to begin flowering.They have been vegging for 44 days. Help plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi Hungry.. they still look GOOD..

The secret to your success is gonna be your watering..
Make sure that when you water... you do a thorough watering.. None of this one cup here..one cup there shit..

Water each plant with a gallon or more if you can...

and then let them dry out.. and then water again thoroughly..

You ask why...

well.. you are using very small pots and the roots will need to utilize all of the room in those tiny pots.. With this PROPER watering technique, the plants roots can utilize all the soil... as opposed to the roots going down to the bottom of the pot and getting root bound.. which is what happens when you only water them a little bit....

Make sure you PH your water as well....

Ive never scrogged, but from what I've read, and seen, you need to get a screen with smaller holes, 1" seems to be the max you want ... :smokin:

hahaha yes i have some very good news everyone. Within the past couple of days my babies were lookin terrible they were wilting and the temp in my box was like 95 ALL DAY. But this morning i pulled off something i didnt think i could. The 4" exhaust fan just wasnt cutting it so this morning while the whole family and a couple of friends were asleep i cut the hole bigger and put a 6" 250cfm fan in for exhaust and put the 4" 80cfm at the bottom for intake i also put the flexi hose that goes to the 4" where it gets fresh outside air. I watered hardcore and i will check them in the afternoon to see if they are doing as good as i think they will. If it is able to keep the temps down good i am thinking about puttin a hps in there. But there are two things i need to know.
1. What wattage do u guys think for a 4'x2'x2' box?
2. How much is the temp gunna raise if i put that hps in there.
OH but also...i cant afford a CO2 system right now but i was wondering if i could do a co2 injection with my paintball tank....this would be pretty fuckin cool....thanks all i love youi all. NASTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

I would say for that size of a box, if you can find it. I would try and get a 150w or if you have to a 250. Either way you go though, hps works heaps better than cfl. But we all love cfl's for their own traits. Just my .02

Sorry for the double post, but Nasty, you need to fill that screen out more before you go into flower. Lay that bog plant down onto it's side if you can, train your plants under the screen until about 75-80% of the screen is filled. Btw, what size holes are you working with? They look rather big, from past reading I understand that you shouldn't have a hole any bigger than 2" and no smaller than 1.5"

I had only been flowering for a couple of days i think it will be ok to switch back....right??ohhhhhh i think that it is reading so high because it is halfway up the fuckin box...here's and older pic to show. I have another one....where should i place it. I was thinking probably like on top of the screen or something. Wow im really high..:stoned: ..hahaha...uhhh.....I moved the intake hose to a different spot...but i dont think it is gunna matter. GK i just wanted to add in in case you didnt know because this is a huge factor for the heat. Dirty south heat in an attic. I was even thinking if all else fails I was either gunna cut a hole in one of the huge ac hoses and connect mine to it...or...cut a bathroom exhaust fan hose in half or put a t-elbow on it and get air coming from downstairs. OMFG this shit gets so frustrating sometimes:confused: , but im not gunna let the heat bring me down. Because i know in the end my ladies will be gorgeous.:thumbsup:. The air coming in would be to warm I am guessing regardless of the light.

I would say seal the exhaust and put in a a/c unit with a thermostat.

Then just make CO2 with yeast and sugar.

ok well today i transplanted all the large plants in to 8 8" large plastic pots i killed off the three little guys in cups because i dont have time for them to catch up and i dont have any more space i am going to veg for another week or soso i can lengthen all of the branches and train them to the screen. thanks guys ...much love.....nasty

as image reaper said, to get the high yeilds scroggers boast you must have smaller screen. i used to use 1" screen when i had a grow. also, i wouldn't use ac for cooling just get a better exhaust fan ( less energy used). with a big enough fan you should be able to keep the temp of the grow at the same temp as the air being drawn in by the intakes. you could look at my old thread titled "lovely ladies" in the closet growing forum if you wanna see alot of scog pics from the start of flower right through to the end. there is also alot of good info there. good luck!

i would love to start up the grow again but i have 2 children now and if i ever went to jail for growing what would happen to them? i got pulled over about 2 months ago and got arrested for 1/2 gram. that in and of itself is no big deal($400 fine) but now i have probation and if i get caught for anything at all it's and automatic 14days in jail but more likely i'd have to finish out the probation in jail. i have been to prison before i had kids and that was bad enough. now that i have children it's not only me that suffers if i go back. there is light at the end of the tunnel however. the state i live in just passed a med law. i have a history of stomach problems and am in the process of trying to convince my doc to right me a script so i can bring it to the state and get a med card. keep i finger crossed for me. also if anyone knows of a "medical marijuana friendly" doc in new england let me know. i have a legit diagnosis that can warrant cannabis use.

Sorry i haven't been back in awhile. as for your thermo, I would say put it at the tops of your plants, that way you will know how hot the tops get. Keep a close eye on your soil so that it doesn't dry out on you. As for the heat, the smallest ac unit I found was 4500btu's and that was about $150. So I would suggest just getting a small inline duct fan or something of that nature. I have had the same prob with temps but I'm hoping the fan is my solution. And I hope that you can find your solution as well... If you can, plug your exhaust(as long as it is unscented air, meaning it has already passed through a filter to rid of the smell) to your bath exhaust, that way it will not linger in your attic but disperse into mother natures air. I'm not sure if it got answered or not but to make Co2 take your baking soda and vinegar I do believe(??0 and just mix it into a bowl... a deep bowl! From what i remember it does expand so you need a high lined container to put it in...

i was looking at your pics and noticed something about thermometer placement. if the light shines directly on it you will have false high readings. i made a little cardboard "hood" for mine and it worked fine. the thermometer will absorb the heat from the light if it shines directly on it. someone can correct me hear if i'm wrong but i believe this is called transfer heat and plants can tolerate that alot better than a high ambient temp. it's like when you stand out in the hot sun at noon on july 4th and your skin feels like it's alot hotter than the air temp. i hope i didn't take a real simple thing and confuse everyone with my poor explanation.

Actually justaseed, i was going to make a comment on the same thing. I was just looking at the new set of pics and that looks as if you have your thermo on the top of the screen with no shade... try and put it at the same level but with it shaded... it will give you a better temp reading.
Aside from some yellowing leaves on the bottom branches, your plants looks really healthy. Keep it up!

From what i can tell, all of your plants are mostly indica aside from the one in the bottom left hand of the picture....

(Your pic here...) They all have fairly fat leaves except that one. So I believe it is the only sativa dominant plant you have...

The unfortunate thing that i found with bagseed is....... you never really know what strain it really is. there will always be a strain that looks like it but to be even more than 80% sure, it's a little tough. The best name you could say is wicked bagseed(or any other name before bagseed) In case they do get cloned(??) and then passed on to someone else, you don't want to throw a name on it and then have it be nothing even close. If you can remember what bag it came out of and what dealer/friend you got it from.. try and backtrack it if you want exact strain. But even then it is hard to trace the plants.

About the temps - I dont know if youve still got high temps, but try using the smaller fan to SUCK air out of the closet, that way the hotter air will be be sucked OUT and cooler air will be sucked IN. Just a theory, no idea if it will work but it will provide better ventilation. A problem that you might have with this is that as the hotter air is being sucked out (into your room, or outside depending how you set it up) is that your room will smell of MJ even more.
I think youd need to put the fan thats sucking air IN at the bottom, and the fan sucking air OUT at the top. Its one way or the other!

Hey hungry, i have been thinking about your venting question. And I'm not sure if this is correct so you may want to ask someone else for a second opinion... but it would make sense to me to put the bigger fan up top to draw the air out, and the smaller fan on the bottom to bring in the freshness. Now what this will do because I'm assuming that the cfm's on the twqo fans are no the same, correct? Use the bigger fan as the exhaust, thus as it is drawing air out, you are also creating negative pressure in your box. So it will also act as a puller on the smaller fan to draw in more air. As long as you have more air leaving the box than you do entering, you will never have any smell leaks out of the intake! Or so it has worked out in my mind, and again, I may be wrong.
And I would consider taking your clones around day 20-21 of flower, they say that that is the best time to take clones. I'm not sure why as I have seen them taken as early as the fifth-sixth node off a plant. But I say give it a try now if you can, and then maybe another try during the first or second week of flowering. Even if the clones don't work, you can always leave some small foliage or a small nug on the bottom of the plant and re-veg her. there are a few options there. but I would say try for the clones first and only re-veg if you have to.

Also i have some very good news there was an auction on ebay for a 265cfm dayton blower. Starting bid was 40 bucks so i made first bid for 40 and sent an email to the guy and told him i was in desperate need of it. He was one of the coolest Cali dudes i have ever talked to....dont worry any of yall from Cali are some of the coolest fuckin people i have anyways lol. But he said his last one went for like 90. But he cancelled auction and sold it to me for 55. What an awesome fuckin dude!!!!!!

thanks yall they are on 12/12 now and i have my dayton blower right in front of me....other than the computer....it blows hardcore i love it. i made this weird ass thing out of wood to keep it on the side of the box. if anyone has any other suggestions for mounting let me know. 250w hps is on the way just a couple more days.

thanks MEME.....i know they are gunna be huge now because of the HPS. So what do i do about tying them down just keep feeding them under screen or tie them down to screen???should i have a secondary screen????
Also i want to put my 125w compact floro in there still maybe by the base of plants to combine spectrums and so the undergrowth does well. ANY IDEAS ON HOW I COULD DO THIS????Okay once the hps gets here this is what im gunna do.....1. get things to make cool tube and hook it up to the dayton and have it sucking through open top of hurricane glass thingy 2. hook up the 6" fan which is now my exhaust to intake and run it into a 6" to a 4" converter then hook it up to bathroom exhaust with an elbow for fresh intake

so where can i put the 4" in-duct fan to maximize airlfow??? after the dayton on exhaust???probably on intake some where between hose size converter and elbow:D :D

Also i have a 2' tube floro that i can throw in there but i dont know where to put it.....??????

Does anyone know where i can just get a little bit of mylar just enough to cover the sides of my box??

But whatever.....this morning i put the dayton on the box......HOLY SHIT IT WAS THE HARDEST THING I HAVE EVR DONE....seriously very hard. i had to mount the fan on a bootleg thing that i made i dont even know what to call it but i like it. i have to check tommorow for the temp change and also like i said i only have lights running during night hours to minimize temp. but i had to hold it with one hand and try to screw some three inch screws while sweating my ass off and almost losing my balance on 2x4's. but it is up and running and good as fuck. i put the 6" on intake and the dayton on top for exhaust but i will post some pics during the next couple of days. ive just been workin a lot. but hps should be getting here soon and i am waitng till the 14 of next month to have both of my SEEMOREBUDS DVD's on the way. oh yeah almost forgot....i trust my local hydro guy but i dont really know too much about those PURE FLOWERS nutrients so i went ahead and ordered the 1 pound of fox farm Beastie bloomz.YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYY

thanks postman it works like a beauty. but only one thing sucks...i run it at dark hours only so it doesnt get too hot. so in the day time when i water it , it is dark in there so i watered yesterday but i dont think i got to water them good yesterday. I water them with all 8 of them splitting a gallon of water like evry three days. Should i water more??? if so how much?? today i went and got a 12" long and 4" at base diameter oil lamp chimney thing it is going to be perfect for my cool tube plan. how long do u guys think till i can see the deffinite sexes??? thanks guys

well hello. i havent posted pics in a while so i thought it was about time to do a covert operation and steal the camera......so i did. I went to check them very early this morning to see if i could look at them while the light was still on. well i succeded(spelling). the light is amazing. the plants on the right side werent doin to good and they were wilting because i havent watered them in about four days. I know this is not good but it has been out of my hands....because at night there are people here who cannot know about the operation...yall catch my drift....and in the day time when i can water them it is fucking pitch black so i cant see a fuckin thing in there. But finally this morning i got to water with the lights on. I gave them a shit load of water so they will be happy and maybe they will forgive their father for starving them for a couple of days:D . I was hoping the wilting wwasnt from heat in there but i really dont think it is because it was like 76 in there so thats OK. i think i can see some preflowers but still i am not sure. so i dunno. oh well fuck it i dont know what to say next......oh yeah im goin to go smoke a bowl or two now:stoned: :D :stoned: :D :stoned: :D

Thanks guys.....Postman i have heard from you and many others when they are just in to flowering like this they have like a double size jump. So do you guys think i should put in another screen about 6-8" above the othere one because i dont want the plants getting burnt or growing into the light. Also my cooltube project did not work because of the metal box that is behind the socket. Do yall have any ideas??? I was thinking instead of placind the tube directly behind it....take it apart and assemble it inside a ventilation T-Elbow, seal off the top end, bulb and glass thing at the perpendicular angle, then flexi hose running to the dayton.....I think iot will work:D :D :D

then my intake idea is...run my 6" intake hose into a 6 to a 4" coverter then the 4" in-duct booster fan,.to a T-Elbow on the bathroom exhaust to get fresh cool air.....maybe it might stink in there a couple of times though:D :D :stoned:

I'm not experienced at growing SCROG-style, but shouldnt you be training your stems to lie sideways under the screen, rather than just letting them grow straight-up thru the screen ? ... Im just asking, not recommending, as I said, I am not experienced at SCROG ... :smokin:

The guy above is right. You should v'e waited too put the scroggnet up untill you started with 12/12. The plant grow's another 2/3 weeks after while on 12/12. While it's still growing you have too tie the plant too the scroggwire and it will grow further. Repeat this untill your scroggwire is full or the growth stops. Most people tie the plant as a spiral too the net.After tieing the plant, the buds will all have the same amount of light to blossom on.

What you're doing right now doesn't really make sense. BUT, you can still try this if you force the plant in the direction of the wire (VERY SLOWLY AND DAY BY DAY!!!)

(Or you can just put the wire up higher if you can)

there you go hungry took a pic then had to turn a 2 tubes of to take another i added the 4 x 85watt t12 tubes to the 1000 watt as i didnt like the coverage it might not do any differance but it seems to be helping and as i said i never got the screen over until i started 12/12 as i had to sex them first .The Postman.
ps as britewire says i would put the screen higher or start tying around the screen giving your bud site a place to form making sure none of the buds touch

i would start tying the stems along the screen in a clockwise directoin dont worry they will turn up towards the light .I know this can be a bit scary as you may think that it will damage the plants but trust me they will be fine and will turn up towards the light .Ive tryed to do a paint shop showing you what i mean lol sorry for the retard drawing but the best i could do if not move the screen up a bit.The postman.

holy shit that is awesome thanks a lot dave.......a couple hours ago(before i got a chance to check the forums) i raised the screen maybe 7" and sat on top of the girls. I am going to start training to bottom of screen the when no room left and the go over the top i will tie down. The reason why i moved the screen up as soon as i opened box is because they have shot up a couple inches they are growing like a son-of-a-bitch and i didnt want them to hit the light. I have been feedind with superthrive,GH flora series nutes, and some stuff called PURE FLOWERS which is 0-30-20. so that should give me some obese buds. does anyone know what i can expect to yeild from these ladies???? well......once again...thanks dave and everyone else

hey i am a newb learning alot thanks to these forumns, simple question for now.
when doing the scrog, do you have to actually tie down or clip the stems that are growing up to the bottom of the screen, or do they automatically train themselves to lie down under screen?
and if you do have to tie down, what is the best way to do that, and how can you be sure that the buds will make it to the top, instead of hitting screen and growing horizontally as well?

hey all...i know its been a while but i have a long waited for update. The ladies are doin really good..other than a small spider mite problem. I dont think they were getting full darkness so it was messing uo he flowering but now i ensured that they do and the female characterisics are starting to show up. I can so far tell that about half of the are female because there is a single calyx with two clear pistils coming out at every node on certain plants. But the temps have been good most of the time. except for a couple of days the temps reach alomost 100 in day time when light are off. but anyways here are some pics of my babies as of today. but what from i have read your suppose to train those braches to grow horizontally, tied down to the netting.. b/c the buds you have on the bottom are not going to get above the screen...?
i may be wrong, but that is what my understanding was...

yah i moved the screen up for the last time a coupl of days ago. I was told you are supposed to let the branches grow horizontall up against the bottom of the screen then after each branch kinda has its own hole you let em go thru the screen and tie down if needed then.:D :D :D yah i have been on 12/12 for like four weeks but i had a clone box that had a floro in it on top of my big box. it had a huge hole where light escaped. so i think that why they wouldnt flower so i removed clone box.but they are starting to flower now. but it was weird because the one i chopped down(hermie) showed sex very early....so it also could mean that my plants are late fowering sativa dominant hybrids.:D ok im bout to go smoke and watch a movie

here are updated pics front right plant is only one showing pistils but the plant doesnt look to good...plants are drooping a lot...but i think its caused by the humidity because of hard raining outside past couple of days. also leaves look very shiny but that could be from pesticide. help guys please i dont know what to do to make them all better and bud.
