don't overdo the pruning, it can stress the plants, and change sex to male on ya ... a little is good, more may be bad ... :smokin:

Actually it'll turn hermie. The genetics of the plant are already made up in the seed and they cant have a 100% sex change.

wrong. the sex of the plant is determined after germination. if u give a plant a lot of stress during veg it will almost certainly turn male. i don't know if it works the other way around though (keep it stress free for a female)

pretty sure its in the genetics
may be wrong though

The sex of the plant is determined IN the seed. Seeds have something called 'RNA' which is like a plant version of DNA. How do you think feminised seeds come about? From a female plant that has been stressed, so it turns hermie - and the seeds produced will be female, but with feminised seeds they can turn hermie VERY easily.
I have had Lowryders kept in the same conditions - same size pots, watered at the same time, same brand of compost, same amount of perlite, same amount of nutes, same temperature and same humidity - and some have turned out male, some have turned out female. I think theres a 70% chance of getting a female, although in some rare cases people have bought a pack of 10 seeds and only got 1 female.
Just because theres a 50% chance of winning on a scratchcard doesnt mean that you WILL win if you buy two.

i have only fimmed the main tip before. seems that it might turn into to much of a bush since cutting growth tips causes lateral growth to take off. picture attached of my recent fim of a future monster which i will show more of in a thread called "Supergirl". just shortly...

Are you trying to create extra colas or trying to stunt vertical growth?

another technique is supercropping, which entails bending the plant at a 90 deg curve when it is young. bringing the main tip down to lateral will cause all the lateral branches to compete to be the main tip. creates super growth and leaves the main tip to grow as a 'branch' so to speak. picture included also at no extra charge.

to fim, you cut half way up the node when topping instead of cutting the whole node off
