Making Hash Oil

I posted this in recreation, but I respect the opinions of the people who roam around here more. SOO....

I read that when making hash oil, you should only soak the buds/trimming in the solvent for 2 minutes, so as to not extract too many impurities. Some other people suggest soaking them for a long time, even days.

1.) How long do you guys soak? Has anyone used both long and short soaking times? Which was better?

2.) What would be the better solvent, acetone or isopropyl alcohol?

mmm, not really. That link says to "Soak your dry weed in the solvent for a few hours to a couple of days, the longer you soak it the more trash comes with the solvent."

I'm looking for personal experiences as to how long is best. Some people only soak for 30 seconds, some for days....

Has anyone used acetone? How did it compare to isopropyl?

I already bought 100% acetone. Heard good things about that.

iso alcohol works good. if you use good bud then longer soaks up to a few hours are ok. of course the 2 minute soaks are the purest though but I havent noticed any difference with 2 hours if I use good bud. maybe I get a little more oil with a little more garbage but i still dont have to smoke all that plant matter.

2 min the most, i shake for 1.30 and the second shake for 30 sec

I was thinking it woiuld be best to use frozen trim, right? Or no? What about solvent temp, would it be better at room temp or freezer temp?
