How come your lungs become used to cigarette smoke and pretty quickly it doesnt irritate at all where as you can smoke weed for years on end and you always cough at least a little?

yknow you never reach that level of 0 irritation that you do with cigarettes.

a few reasons i can think of is that tobbaco is cured a dried fully and processed also so the smoke is smooth.

Weed is usually still fairly fresh depending how long you dealer cures it if they do at all that one reason for a harsh smoke and maybe your just smoking schwag get some chronic its be a smoother smoke

and for the reasoning i could be totally wrong so take my comment by a grain of salt lol.:D

because marijuana smokers usually take in a bigger hit and hold it longer, usually what causes the cough. But cigarettes also have this in it to help make the smoke more tolerable to smoke, yet much more cancerous.

WTF. Where did that list come from? Thetruth.com? That's got to be a list of all aditives used in cigs ever. I'm sure that all that shit isn't put into every pack. I smoke way too much and I can tell you why we don't cough. After a while you get used to the drag you take. I rarely cough when smoking pot. Only when I accidently take a hit thats too big. I allways know exactly how much I'm taking in when taking a drag of a cig.

Yes. i think the filter does help out. Aside from grabbing some of the tar and cooling the smoke a bit, it'll only let so much air through it at once. With a filter you can suck in with all your might, but the filter will be gumming up the works. Take the filter off and you'll cough like it's chronic.

Fabolous

the filter has no effect, i have to roll my Cig's up in the rolling pappers and i can safly say theres not much of a differnts but the fact that you get more smoke (Filters just don't release as much smoke)

yknow you never reach that level of 0 irritation that you do with cigarettes.

you dont hold the smoke in your lungs nearly as long.

Try that with a cigarette.

EDIT: and im sorry are you kidding me with that list? Cigarette companys arent Willy Wonka, holy shit. Yes they put radiation and bad shit into cigs, but they cant pull 20397 ingredients out of their ass for each cigarette.

Funny story, curiosity got the better of me one night. I had an old bong that had really no use to me anymore, and as we all know the reason why bongs are legal in America is supposedly because of their amazing filtering abilites for tobacco. I had to try it. Out of a force of habit, though, I held it in as long as I would weed, and I almost coughed so hard I threw up.

Yep...

if youre rolling your own cigarettes with loose tobacco it is very different then the tobacco in cigarettes unless you are just taking that nasty cigarette tobacco and rolling it inyour own papers

That sucks balls. I was friends with a guy in school who went and bought a bong. Well on the way home he got a speeding ticket and when the cop saw the octopuss garden bag, he went a searchin. When he found the bong, he made the kid hit the bong with the tobacco that they throw in. He did throw up. nasty stuff. I grew up in a small town so little andy griffith shit like that happened all the time.

You dont have to hold in MJ smoke long for the THC to be absorbed. THC is absorbed by the lungs nearly instantly, so I only hold my toke in for as long as I do with a cig.

How come it's so hard to believe that all those chemicals are in one cig? They are nasty and the more you smoke them the worse you are with your health and looks. So theres gotta be somethin in them cigs that makes you get fucked up like that and I believe all those chemicals listed is contained in just 1 cig, flame me ^_^.

I just don't see how they can all be in a cig. I'm no chemist, but if you get all that shit together and smoke it its gotta have a negative affect (other than cancer for all you smartasses out there). I still think that list came from an anti tobacco website. I know smoking is bad, but come on. I don't want to pay an extra dollar a pack because some dumbass guy is unhappy his dad died of cancer. If your retarded dad smoked for 50 years and didn't think that brown shit he hacked up every morning was bad for him, he deserves to be dead.

You don't so much hold it in as you let it swirl around in your mouth as you inhale, then blow strait back out..nice and smooth. mmmm tasty. Think I'll have another one.

also cannabis smoke hits ur lungs at a higher temp and that causes the irration and possibble empecema or however its spelled
Not according to this:

Therapeutic Emphysema Potential

Medical research indicates that light cannabis smoking might be useful for a majority of mild emphysema victims. It would improve the quality of life for millions of sufferers and extend their life spans.

The U.S. government and DEA (since 1976) say the side effect of being â??highâ? is not acceptable, no matter how many years or lives it saves; even though some 90 million Americans have tried marijuana and 25 to 30 million still smoke marijuana relaxationally, or use it responsibly as a form of daily self-medication, without one single death from overdose - ever!

All research into the oxygen blood transfer effects caused by cannabis indicates that the chest (lung) pains, extremity pains, shallowness of breath, and headaches we may experience on heavy smog days are usually alleviated by cannabis smoking throughout the day.

Dr. Donald Tashkin, the U.S. governmentâ??s leading scientist on marijuana pulmonary research, stated that you cannot get or potentiate emphysema with cannabis smoking.
