I have a hydro system ive been using for months now. But the roots are green and small and very week. but the solution i use to feed them is green also, and am wondering if its dyeing the roots or are they supposed to be green..

I have seen some nice pictures of root systems in pictures and mine are just not looking that healthy and white.

I have light proofed my tank.. what is the key nutrient for healthy root growth , and

Any other ideas you may have on what this problem could be.

Thx

Why is it green. What are you using? I am not familiar with green nutes.

Foxfarm nutrients are green, and tint the water green. However, they've never colored my roots. Never heard of that.

You've got algae. Clean out your plant roots and container with hydrogen peroxide H2O2. Rinse and make some new nutes. How long have you been using these nutes?

algae is caused by light leaks.

green algae is not as harmful, but will attract fungus knats, and you don't want that...you treat it with fountec algaecide, it won't completely kill it, but it will stop it from spreading. You can start using it all the time to control algae. comes in 8oz for 8 bucks...:smokin:

One problem about alga is it sucks the oxygen out of the air and water. fyi
