Well it's strange but the oz I just bought is really killing my lungs. I'm not a heavy smoker by any means, I smoke probably a joint or 2 a day, and they're not massive or anything. Don't smoke cigarettes either. Well I got some kind bud and I believe the smoke just isn't very smooth, because ever since I got it I wake up feeling like crap. My lungs have all this shit in them, my throat hurts, I'm coughing a lot. So I took a break and it went away...now I'm left with an oz that's pretty much unsmokeable!!
The weed isn't like the good shit I'm used to...The stuff I normally get is good dro, fluffy, lots of crystals, and when ground up makes a lot of keif. THIS STUFF is super sticky, grinding makes almost no keif because it all sticks together...perhaps the curing or something is making the smoke harsh? Am I crazy? What can I do to make it more acceptable to my body...?

Try making bud butter out of it. Cuz if its bad ull just throw it up. It will at least save ur lungs some what.
OK, it could be one of many many reasons.
For a start, if it has been cured then it wont be harsh, so more likely its not been cured. Do you take a hit and hold it down? So many people do this and proves they know absolutly NOTHING about smoking cannabis. Like it says on the home page under the dailyfactoid, THC is absorbed instantly by the lungs, and if you hold your hits in all your doing is killing youself because your coating the lungs with tar.
If you dont hold it in, it might be good weed, your just not experienced enough.
I say get some glass jars, and slow cure it yourself for about a month. If its still too harsh, then make brownies or just cook with it.

I read that daily factoid alright, but from my experiance, holding it in like 4-6 seconds does get you considerably higher then just exhaling immidiatly. Mostly with big hits like from bongs, bubblers, blunts, but if its a small toke then I wouldn't even bother holding it. I'v been putting this to the test for a while now and I have to say it's definatly no placebo.

It gets you higher because of the same reason you get lightheaded from holding your breath. You're constantly depriving yourself of air by holding it in for 4-6 seconds. Like studies show once it's fully in your lungs feel free to blow it out.

Like studies show once it's fully in your lungs feel free to blow it out.4-6 seconds is such an insignificant amount of time, you would have to be talking hit after hit to really give yourself a slight head rush. Assuming THC is absorbed instantly, given the chemical touches the walls of your lungs, then holding it in for even 3 seconds triples the chances of you absorbing all the THC. These couple seconds I believe DO make a diffrence, now understand, im not saying you won't get high if you just blow it out, cus you will. But, the added couple of seconds greatly increase your chances of blowing out THC-less smoke.
Also, if ALL the THC were to be absorbed instantly, note the word all, then contact high would be virtually impossible.

I have the same problem right now. I'd been smoking this very good bud and the guy I bought from didn't have any so I went to another guy that has good stuff that i've smoked before and it is KILLING my lungs right now. I'm hacking up stuff, it hurts to cough, and after I smoked last night I felt cold as hell and began to shake and tense up and I felt like crap this morning. I thought it might be because I caught some bug from someone I smoked with but they are all healthy right now.

95% of the THC ios absorbed in the first five seconds.

I'm not sure if it might be strep or something, because i have headaches, im hot then cold and it still hurts to hack stuff up and cough. Maybe i just need some penicillin.

Hey Homestar -
One thing I didn't see anybody mention is the possibility that your grass contains residual pesticides. I'm a medical user, and I CAN'T under any circumstances, use anything but organic weed, even in cooking. I have an autoimmune condition, and it could literally kill me. But the fact is, MOST people would react negatively to those chemicals, and your symptoms are within the realm of that possibility.
If you bought cheap commercial grass (imported from Mexico, etc.), chances are it was never properly leached OR cured. Remember, in other countries, they're still using pesticides on their crops that the U.S. banned 30+ years ago.
I say get rid of the shit, and try to locate some organic bud. If you're a med patient (or can get a scrip in your state), the coops generally provide some assortment of organically grown herb. You'll never go back once you smoke organic! :smokin:
