Id greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me how to deal with a bench warrant without arrest(cant lose my job)

If i go in to serve the warrant do i get arrested??

Do i HAVE to post bail??

Can i get a bail bond for bench warrant bail???

It says if i dont take care of it immediately they will come arrest me at my home or work, this usually happen?

Gracias in advance!

you need a local lawyer ASAP...a bench warrant means the cops will haul you off if/when they find you and you won't be let out at least until you go in front of the judge that issued the warrant. a lawyer can run interference for you and possibly work things out before the police catch up to you...so get offline now and get on the phone!

Would they really come to my house for something like this??

Thanks maryjane!!!!!!!!! answered all my questions except about how long till they will get ticked off and show up at my house?? I guess you couldnt really say but i need to know.

Anyone know if most bail bond places would accept an expensive subwoofer and amp for collateral for bail???

Thanks del, ya i know they bust you when they find you but ive had them before and went a month without anything happening but this time they sent me this warning thing with the amount for bail when last time it just said i had a warrant and gave me a court date to come in and serve it.....I hate pigs

If i lose my job im FUCKED

yeah true but after i gain that freedom back i will be homeless not too long after. Took me along time to find a job that would support me in my area.

I could give a fuck about going to jail, i just dont wanna lose my job over something as stupid as this.

the reason for a bench warrant is to get you to court
if you go yourself you will not be arrested.
they will give you a court date or put you in front of
the judge that day.
your gonna have to pay extra cash for the court ordering
a warrant.
they want you out not in jail.if you go to court they will work with you.

So whats the bail for?????

Usually you post bail to stay outta jail.

If i dont go to jail for this i will at the hearing most likely, havent been following their treatment reccomendations. To be honest those programs phsyically keep you sober(besides chronic) by making you pee in a cup and holding it over your head. My job on the other hand makes me WANT to be sober, only because of a feeling of accomplishment at the end of the day. If i go to this fucking treatment it will interfere with my job. If i dont get arrested for that i will for getting another violation as it was a terms of agreement thing or something. So I got alot on my plate to deal with.

You know if i could put some collateral up for bond?? Havent called around yet...

Gracias

bail is to get out of jail
if your in jail and you want out till your court date
you can put up 10% of bail amout and a property to ensure
you will go to court.
fuck bail its for pussies.

C4nn4Bliss
03-28-2006, 01:17 AM
yeah no shit but this is all centered around me not losing my job that took a grip to find and establish

It says " You may accept service of this warrant by reporting in person at once to the Court listed above or, you may remit the bail shown by mail to the court listen, by cerified check or money order payable to the issuing court

Failure to comply will result in your immediate arrest either at your residence or at your business address"

So if i go in they arrest me and give me the next available date right?

If i post bail they let me stay out until the next available date?

03-28-2006, 01:20 AM
no i think it means if you dont go in immediately they will issue a warrent for your arrest. justgo in and see what te deal is. if it was super serious they would already have a warrent out for you and be lookin for you at your pad and around town

it's your fault because you got yourself into a situation that not only have you obviously been in before..but you obviously don't take it serious..because if you had, you would've been in that court room.... even if you were DYING.. bleeding to death.. you would've been in that court room.. HAD you taken your situation seriously... you didn't..

I'm sure you do now.. because it has cost you your freedom.

This IS your fault because you obviously didn't take the court or your first trip to jail serious enough.

Like i said..choir boy has a lot to learn

dui is bad enough but when it's compounded with contempt of court (fta) along with whatever they found on or about you when they catch up to you, well, let's just say, x-mas in jail is pretty depressing...

Yeah i dont take it serious but i dont think theyd appreciate me puking in the court room infront of the judge. Or do they do things differently in Canaduh?

THANK. YOU.

My point exactly... How does me being canadian have ANYTHING to do with your goofy court missing ass? I maybe canadian.. and shit.. i may have never even been arrested or even in a fucking police car for that matter.. but i still know that you do not miss a court date for ANY reason.. unless you're fucking dead.. you're expected to be there. Puke or no puke. Shitting your pants or not.

Have a fun time dude.. you obviously need the time to work your shit out.. assuming you can.. it just seems like your mental capacity only goes so far..

haha will do

Ive had my date continued before with no problem because my car wouldnt start about an hour before i was supposed to appear. ALSO my attorney said that most likely he wouldnt issue a warrant for something like having the flu, but it really depended on what mood the judge was in. So i dont know where you get this your supposed to be in court unless your dead deal, it ALWAYS depends on the judge....

Good shit, that's the exact mentality that'll land you back in jail.

Me though? I hope to never do time.. because i'm just not that kind of person.. if i drink.. i don't drive... i'm not gonna kill someone, or rape anyone.. i keep to myself and understand the rules of soceity.. i don't always follow them.. and flat out break them sometimes.. but at least i'm prepared to deal with the concequences. you? i don't know what your story is.. but it's a pretty sad one.. you've done time before.. for who knows what.. you obviously didn't take it serious.. or even thought it was a joke because it was the "system" or "the man" that put you there.. not your own actions...

So yea.. keep blaming the system.. and the system will keep fucking you in the ass... but only because you let it.

C4nn4Bliss
03-28-2006, 02:15 AM
We will see what happens, ill post back when i find out

i dont blame it on the system, but once your in the system it snowballs very easily. So you agree how the system works?? The more money you have the better chance you have of getting your case dropped? Thats bullshit if ive ever seen it but its reality...

Gotta go with the flow in these situations.

Yeah, but he's been in trouble with this before and the Judge ordered rehab of some kind and he hasn't complied with that order. Judges don't like that and I'm betting that the same Judge issued this Bench Warrent. Now he has all kinds of problems and headaches to deal with. Plus, he could be sitting up in his room an hour from now and they could come knocking. Or tomorrow while he's at work. I'd hate to have that shit hanging over my head.

If it were me, I'd walk my rear into that Judges courtroom and at the end of call when he asks if hes missed anything, I'd stand up and beg for mercy.

I've been in a similar situation. I had a court date that two days before my car stopped working. I called every possible person I could to change the court date. I left multiple voicemails for my probabation officer even the public defender I got assigned. No return calls were ever made. Needless to say, they issued a bench warrant without even contacting me in any way (so I never knew I had a warrant for my arrest). One morning I was awakened by a knock on the door. Two uniformed police officers told me some story about damage being done to my car and that I needed to come have a look. Being half alseep and ignorant of the bench warrant, I saw no reason to take a look. I was about halfway to my car when they grabbed my arms and handcuffed me. Luckily it happened well before the court opened in the morning so I was processed and sent to court within a few hours. I explained the story to the judge and requested a new attorney. Maybe I just got a sympathetic judge, but he understood and let me off without any other trouble than paying the bench warrant fee. The best way to avoid any jail time is to talk to your lawyer. You will have to show up in court at some point (that's the whole point of being issued a bench warrant) so the best bet is to have your lawyer talk to the court and arrange a day for you to appear, then notify the local police of your situation and that he will be guruanteeing your appearance in court. DON'T JUST IGNORE IT!!!

nah i thought this thread should die

Turns out all the judge wanted was for me to show up in court for missing the previous date, thought that this thread was silly after that and it should die. Although i do find it funny that bob was so certain he knew our court system.... but then i re-read all this and realized that he was just busting my balls, fuckin canadian! I gotta go back in a month to take care of my new charges.

thanks for those who tried to help me out, rest go fuck yourself
