i was on probation thru l.a. county juvenile court
for years and i smoked everyday.
i wouldnt suggest taking those pills.
they will fuck you up after awhile.
zoloft is horrible.all those ssri's are bad
they just fix you chemically they dont change
the cause of depression.once you stop taking them
life will be waiting with interest

well i get tested every week and if i fail a test i have 2-10 years in state jail, so im gonna refrain from smoking, and i dont wanna take the pills, but i have to go to the doc becuase of legal reasons, and im not in juvenile probation, its adult probation, as well as 4 days in county jail i spent (harris county, including the whole city of houston)

The only problem I have with anti-deppressants is that it affects your sex drive and when you do have sex it takes ages to well you know :o
Anybody know any that don't do this

I was prescribed wellbutrin, paxil, celexa and a few more.. Like you, i attempted to replace weed with prescription drugs..after about a year i realized how blatantly ineffective they were.
Paxil was a little fun at first, and i discovered that 8 wellbutrins causes very powerful hallucinations!
But after some time the paxil somehow just stopped working and i developed an acute distaste for wellbutrin.
So, hey, they're better than nothing, but they're exspensive and weak (even in their highest doses)
Besides they probably don't test for all drugs! Just try alternative stuff, like shrooms or acid or kratom..

I had Prozac once and it gave me a happy high for the first week or so but then I got nothing and was taking 3 sometimes 4 a day to see if I could get the buzz back but I never did.The doctor said they work on some people but not others which I found very strange.

SweetRed do they affect your sex life?
I know this is the second time I have mentioned this but my past relationship and another person's I know have been tested to the limit because of it.Sex isn't the most important thing in a relationship but what is the point in taking a pill to make you happy if it just frustrates you in other ways.

ssri's only block the uptake of seritonin. there are 3 chemicals that influence our brains, the other 2 are dopamine and epinephrin. they are finding out that some folks have a need for more epinephrin. effexor blocks that from being absorbed. prozac stopped working, zoloft makes you like a zombie. effexor you have energy, it's much better. if you have to take one, try that. as far as sex goes. the problem is the drugs actually improve the overall sez experience. more excitement, however there is a disconnect between when you brain sez you are ready and your body is not in the same state. after you realize this you can re-sync or just take viagra. it's a good excuse to give your doctor. " doc, i cant get it up. got any viagra"?

Thanks SweetRed and 2toker.
2toker I have a couple more questions if you don't mind.
1) Do doc's give women viagra?
2) Will I have to take effexor for good?
I don't really understand wether depression is curable or not.I am 100% sure it is a chemical imbalance and not just me being unhappy.

Depression is a b!tch...I've taken wellbutrin, prozac, zoloft, lexapro, among others
They all made me extremely agitated, which is why I don't take them anymore. Oh yeah, they do effect your sex drive...I hate to admit this, but my pdoc put me on viagra for a bit because of the effects of the anti depressants. I didn't ask, I just told him I was having trouble in the sex department, lol! He knew what I was talking about. Apparently it is quite common.
I don't know whats worse...the side effects, or the depression? No, actually I do know...depression takes the life right out of ya!
Good luck! I hope you find something that works...
As for me...I may start back on some kind of coctail. I've been a little crazy the last few weeks, lol!
Actually, alot crazy! I think maybe too crazy!

Hi HiddenBeauty. i'm not sure about viagra for women. because men and women approach sex from 2 totally different places. for men it's about arousal. thats what viagra does, it allows the increased flow of blood. i'm sure it would do the same for women, but does having a swollen clit do the same for a woman as for a man? dont think so. from what i understand, drugwise, women need testosterone to get "in the mood" . you could always try some viagra and see what it does for you.
about the effexor. i'm not sure if you need to think about getting off a drug like an anti-depressant if it is working for you. for me it's: you feel like shit, you take a pill that restores your brain chemistry to normal, you feel good. why stop taking that which helps you? see? for me it's all about brain chemistry. there is no shame in this. this is why they developed ssri's. tons of folks are on them. and the ones that are'nt should be taking them most of all. why be miserable? thats why we all burn right?
also- i'm on 225 of effexor. 2years now, still works.

all those anti depressants probably work......for someone. not all of those drugs work the same for u or me......everyone reacts sumwhat differently. paxil really fucked me up.......however XANAX works great for me. never used zolof but i have seen a few lawyer adds on tv about lawsuits....go figure. as far as sexual side effects........they all have a downside. its like shooting pool with a piece of rope......if u know what i mean. it really sucks to have to take a pill to chill u out and then another just to get hard so u can have sex. i personally think the pharaceutical companies have our minds and dicks in their hands.

I've been on Celexa for years with no noticable sexual side effects (or any other for that matter). The only problem is that I can't get off the shit! I feel like I'm totally physically addicted because I'm unable to even taper off of it. But it does help me. I have pretty severe depression, and when I don't take my medicine, I crash hard. So I guess I'm stuck with it. BTW, tried Prozac and Lexapro, both disasters.

I see it as an inconvenience and sometimes try to ignore it and pretend i'm fine,I'm probably my own worse enemy sometimes I think. My damn doctor put on my notes cannabis addiction because I told him I was smoking more as my depression is bad.
Thanks for your kind words JunkYard I wish you luck with your depression too,go easy on those cocktails :D
Thanks 2toker ermm I will pass on the swollen clit it sounds painful lol
I think I might talk to another doctor see what he says because I don't feel happy with my own doctor especially after writing cannabis addiction.
This crap winter weather doesn't help at all,I wish the sun would hurry up.
