What's the deal with everyone saying that if weed has seeds in it that it's bad? Every plant has seeds in it, and I don't understand why better weeds don't have any seeds in them. I have found seeds in some really really good weed that I've bought, and I could tell it was really good because my tolerance is ridiculous and it got me ripped.
I'm just curious why people say that if weed has seeds in it that it's bad. If it doesn't have seeds does that just mean the grower was considerate enough to deseed it or are better marijuana plants grown without seeds or something? I wouldn't think that would be possible but I've never grown before so I don't know.

No it's just that usually when weed has seeds in it that means when ever it was pollinated the bud stopped producing resin which contains THC which means it didnt get a chance to be better...bud with seeds are still good and if you ask me, it's in some ways a better deal if your a grower.

Three things I can think of
1. The main thing, like O'Man already mentioned, once the plant has been pollinated it stops producing THC. That weed with seeds that got you ripped may have been good but it would have been even better if it had never been pollinated and harvested at just the right time.
2. You can't smoke the seeds and it can be a pain inthe ass to get them all out.
3. Weight. Since you can't smoke them they are just useless weight in the bag. I remember getting 1/4's of really seedy weed and ending up with 1+ grams of seeds. Who the fuck wants that much of smething you can't smoke?

damn that's a little more extreme than i'm talking about, i usually find 1 or 2 per eigth is all i mean. but that really sucks, how was the weed though?

Idk know why i dont mind a couple seeds as long as its not like 50, besides your weed probley had seeds in it before your dealer just took them out before hand.

Preventing seeds is soo easy, and if the grower can't be bothered to get rid of males, or determine the difference, thats not good. Like a few people mentioned before, the plant will use energy to make seeds, instead of producing more THC. But I will agree there is some good weed that has seeds. I just really don't see why people can't be bothered to rip out the males half the time.

seeds are from a male and female mateing, thru pollen, the only thing bad about seeds is the fact that they make the bag way more.

The Cannabis Grow Bible - Sinsemilla
"A non-pollinated female (sinsemilla) plant will produce more flowering buds and more quantities of THC than the male plant or a seeded female plant. The buds produce resin, witch contains THC and caan drop down onto the leaves. When fully mature. it should produce a cery pleasing hight, dependind on the grow method, the strain of plant and time of harvest. It should be the goal of every cannabis cultivator to grow non-pollinated females plant because these produce the best yield. The goal of a cannabis breeder is to produce quality seeds and plants."

1 or 2 seeds isn't bad. Although it still means the plant was fertilized and the production of THC was reduced. Yeah, 1+ grams of seeds per 1/4 is extreme. That was back in the 80's though when we took what we could get. We'd get good weed every now and then but most stuff was coming from Mexico and was low mids. Also, it was only every now and then that you'd get that many seeds but it did really piss us off when we would. Nothing worse than getting a nice fat sack only to have it reduced substantially before ever smoking any.:(

It's actually a great book. Although I've seen two different versions of it, which is wierd to me. Then again, Border's is a wierd bookstore.
