Iā??ve had alcohol many times before, but always just with my friends wherever. Iā??ve never gone to a bar. There seems to be a few things which Iā??m not clear about. The bars near my house are obviously setup so that you drive there, park your car, then drive home. How exactly does that work without driving home drunk? Taking a bus or something isnā??t really practical because you canā??t just leave your car there really. Are you supposed to drag your friend along with you and have them just not drink the entire time you are at the bar so they can drive? Are you supposed to just sit in the bar for hours until you are sober again? Are you just supposed to drink crap drinks that arenā??t very strong?

What am I missing? Is going to a bar even worth the fucking hassle?

most people don't drink to get drunk, especially when driving is in the near future.

I was under the impression that you could pass .08% (I think thatā??s the legal limit) without even being drunk at all, is this not the case? Iā??ve never used a breathalyzer before.

normally if you go to the pub with mates there will be one designated driver that doesn't drink....or only has one drink....but either way it's better to be safe than sorry and not drink at all if your driving.

If your alone....I guess you only have one unit.

yeah, I'm underage here in the US, but if you find a buddy that looks similar to you, just use his ID and your in. Anyways, if a group of people go to a bar and doesn't have a DD, then you're asking for trouble. Sure some people will try and risk it, but bars in no way condone people leaving their bar and driving drunk. There are signs all over bars that warn of the punishments of doing so. I'm sure it's tough to get some people to be a DD for a night, but all my buddies smoke, so if you just offer to smoke them out a few times, they are more than willing to drive our drunk asses around.

2 beers can put a smaller frame individual over the legal limit of .08.

Here in my town, all the bars are together on none other than HIGH STREET (not kidding). More often than not, since I live in a college town, although a kinda spread out one, people usually walk to bars. It's maybe a mile walk, from my place anyways, which can be done in about 15-20 minutes, so it's not bad at all... except for all the hills. But when you drive, basically the most sober person takes the wheel. My friends and I have given up on the concept of DD, just because we all like to get smashed at bars. So when that happens, sometimes we just leave the car there til the next day and walk home. :)

Haha. Well basically from what I understand, you get tanked and then try not to be the unlucky bastard that gets caught. :stoned:
