Insomnia Due To Cannabis?
Fact: weed makes you sleepy. Howeverâ?¦ has any 1 experienced insomnia with constant marijuana use?
Im 21, im an active person, I eat well, I rarely drink, I am not addicted to smoking (gave up 2years ago). I have suffered from relatively severe insomnia for the last 2years. I have been smoking cannabis forâ?¦ four, five years.
I have changed my lifestyle to optimise my sleep for the last 4months... It hasnâ??t not work. Could this be some form of cannabis sycosis?
I go to bed no later than 12.
I get up at half 9am.
I donâ??t eat any food past 9pm.
I do not do anything hectic past 10 or use computer past 10
I watch TV till 12.
I then listen to music to fall asleep to.
I exercise every day.
I am not stressed.
This is a huge problem and I would love as much useful help, info as possible.
Thankyou

I know what you mean i also have troubles sleeping. One thing i have learned is dont smoke the bud a couple of hours before bed. They say pot makes you tired, but it keeps me awake untill my high is gone. hope you get it under controll because no sleep really SUCKS :twocents:

Look into Melatonin. It's a chemical natural produced by the pineal gland in your brain, that influences sleep cycles. You can get supplements at the store. http://www.melatonin.com

Nah, I mean I'm really not that sleepy when I'm high but when I'm coming down it helps me to get to bed.

you say you've been an insomniac for 2 years.. ok then you say you quit smoking cigs 2 years ago... one of the withdrawls is restless-ness/sleeplessness.. i'm no doctor but that does seem to be too much of a coincidence to me... if i was going to make an educated guess i'd say it's due to you quitting tobacco...

like i said in your post in the lounge, this problem may not be connected physically, but mentally... or, perhaps... when you did quit, you did get the withdrawls, and your body just never wanted to set it's self back to a normal sleep pattern, or for some other reason, didn't.

that happens to me too, but only when i cant burn. i smoke every day, so i dont need to worry about going to sleep. so i guess i kinda depend on weed to go to sleep. If i do stop i only have sleeping problems for like 3 days i think

try sleeping without music. i find it distracting, give it a try to see how you feel about it.

Yeah it takes a while to get your normal sleep patterns back. When I abstain my use of cannabis, I get really restless legs in bed, and total insomnia for the first few days. After a week, I start feeling normal again, but yeah..that is the downside to smoking cannabis. There is mild withdrawal effects.

I have trouble sleeping when I don't smoke weed.
That's the only withdrawal symptom I've really ever experienced, and I don't think it's very much of a withdrawal system, just that I tend to give myself more things to do when I don't smoke.

Insomnia is a slight withdrawl symptom from marijuana. (I'm haven that problem now) Usually takes up to a week of not smoking for sleep patterns to re-establish. Marijuana does indeed effect melatonin levels.
Insomnia WHILE smoking? Hmmmmmmm
If you've been smoking heavily your melatonin levels might be a little off base.
Also, certain strains (strong sativas) can actually make you energetic.
Strong indicas are what you want to use before bed.
Try some White Rhino.....you'll pass out before you even finish it. lol
