If so have you ever seen any?
I live next to a haunted house (Axe murder) and i never feel comfortable walking up there at night. I have also seen about 2 ghosts, One in my friends house which was like 400 years old and there was a room in there which nobody went into. If they shut the dogs in there they wouldnt stop barking, howeling, whining until they were let out. I saw my first ghost in that house. Then the next time i saw one i was in field middle of the day and i saw some people just taking walk (they were wearing old fashioned cloths i thought that was kinda weird). The next day i was speaking to someone in my village about it and they said that another murder happened in that field (i know alot of murders near me).
So Do you Belive and have you ever seen anything?

When I was a kid I used to live near what everyone called a "haunted house". Actually it was just a foundation and fireplace, tucked up into the woods, of a house that apparently burned down. The rumor was that, many years before, some guy was drunk and threw a bottle of moonshine into the fireplace. The bottle exploded and the house burned down killing the guy.
Well, one day me and a friend rode our bikes up to the place and as we were walking up the trail we saw something. A yellowish cloud or fog about the size and proportion of a grown man. We both turned away, ran to our bikes, and rode away as fast as we could, never to return again.
Was it a ghost? Who knows. I was only 8 or 9 at the time and I was too freaked out to examine it more closely. All I know is that I saw something that was not normal.

Man, it's like the x-files in here tonight.
I don't beleive ghosts exist as much as I belive they don't. clear as mud?
I've allways lovedgoing to 'haunted places' and shit though. I have been to places with unexplained happenings, but no actual ghosts. 'Till i actually see some shit with my own eyes, it's just a possibility for me.

Your brain is a powerful piece of machinery and can fool you quite easily!
I for one havent but then again just cause i havent seen it doesnt mean its not real. Take shrooms for example you cant completely explain what you see there, so whos to say their arent ghosts!

I think i have seen a ghost heres my story;
I was about 11 years old over at my best friends house..we had planned to play D&D all night but we could not find the dice. So instead we played tag around the house the ussual knocking things over routine..then just as i was chasing my buddy he ran passed a lamp(one of those ones that stand on it own) and must of hit it when it fell over and there went the light..so after some cleaning up we sat down..and were trying to figure out what to say to his mom when she got back..and all of a sudden..he noticed a whitish light at the top of room and it sortove turned into a smoke(more of a thin white fog) and floated downward and hoverd in the hall way before it proceded to float down the hallway and dissapear. he later said he thought a woman in the figure..but i didnt really think i saw anything.
I wonder do normal like 40 watt light produce any gases that could have cause such an illusion?

like i said your brain is powerful...
Would you still feel the same if you hadnt known a murder took place??? i highly doubt it, youd be oblivious to it.
In other words, you fuck with yourself...

I did actually..I have never liked the house next to mine. I have always hated it. Then i recently learned that a murder took place there.

one time i was staying at my great-great grandmother's house (still in the family after all these years) by myself. one night I was sitting out on the front porch blazing away (smoked at least 3-4 grams in about an hour (really good shit too). I was about half way through a joint when I glanced across the porch and saw someone sitting in a rocking chair. i didn't think anything of it at first (I was blazed out of my mind) but then I realized that there shouldn't be anyone else there besides myself, so I looked again. No one was in the chair, but it was still rocking like someone had just gotten up. Was it a ghost? Maybe. I think that if you can't prove a theory wrong, you can't say that its not real. Prove to me that ghosts aren't real and maybe I'll agree with you.

C4nn4 i belive it like this. There is a mile thick wall between us and a "spiritual" world and there are cracks in the wall these can be caused either by weegee boards or spirits that have not fully left this world.
That is how i think..chose not to belive it.

I am glad that ghosts don't exist. I would have a hard time jacking off if I thought the ghost of my grandfather might be watching over me. One question: why do people always see ghosts dressed in clothing? Do your clothes make it to ghostland too? What if you die wearing a shirt you don't like?
Think about it. There are BILLIONS of people who have died (not counting all the Neanderthals and the dinosaurs and all...). If even say .01% of those people became ghosts and still roam the earth, there should be MILLIONS of ghosts all over the place. If they exist they should be a daily occurrence and their existence should not even be in question. We should be running into naked ghosts all the time.

Technically you are right. By the current laws of physics, they cannot physically reside in our reality/dimension. However, if you delve into the field of quantum physics you will discover some theories that might (notice I say might) allow for spirits to physically manifest in our realm of existence. I won't go into detail here because I simply don't feel like giving a quantum physics lesson to the minors and some of the less than inteligent people on these boards.
------------
quantum physics
n. (used with a sing. verb)
The branch of physics that uses quantum theory to describe and predict the properties of a physical system.
-----------
quantum theory
n.
1. A theory in physics based on the principle that matter and energy have the properties of both particles and waves, created to explain the radiation of energy from a blackbody, the photoelectric effect, and the Bohr theory, and now used to account for a wide range of physical phenomena, including the existence of discrete packets of energy and matter, the uncertainty principle, and the exclusion principle.
2. Any of various specific applications of this theory.

I have always been interested in the mechanics of quantum physics but do not have the time to indulge into it enough to fully understand it. Can you reccomend some readings to begin with?? Not something like quantum physics for dummies:)

damn...ummmm...it's hard to remember the titles since I read them back when I was 11-13. I think most of them aren't in print anymore as they were already somewhat old when I read them.
There is one book that I've read recently though that you might enjoy. The book is called "The Fabric of the Cosmos : Space, Time, and the Texture of Reality". While it doesn't deal exclusively with quantum physics, it will explain a good amount of it. It will also detail some string theory, classical physics, M-Theory, and other higher (no pun intended) mathematics.

The truth is that everything in this reality is made up of conciousness. every atom and every cell are all inhabited. the cells that make up your body as well as the air around you and even the hardest chunk of metal. as far in all directions as infinity
you should read the book "The holographic Universe"

no i would get the fuck outta the room. No one has ever actually said they have properly seen a ghost and when its dark and quiet its easy to imagine things that aren't even there that can shit you up easily but at the end of the day i believe there is something out there which is not human. You have a very good point, but I'd love to think there is something after death. Woohooo, im going to make sure i die in a cool top, jeans, with a joint in my hand, cos then i can smoke it forever when i die!

I believe in ghosts. I used to be in one of those ghost tracker units..
Being able to see into the higher plane (4th dimension/astral plane) is called clairvoyance. Many are gifted with this "extra sense" (its more like an ability that fell into disuse) and it's an ability you can develop with education and practice.
Some spirits seem to be able to cross into our plane partially. I can't explain how they do this.

I believe in ghosts for sure! No real personal experiences, but from some of the stuff I've seen on tv, I'm convinced.
Speaking of, if anyone watches Ghost Hunters on Sci-Fi, there's supposed to be a really good episode on next Wed. when "the line between our two worlds is crossed." The guys from TAPS get more than just a chill this time I guess, so I know I will be watching. That show is so interesting.

For years growing up i was almost obsessed with this subject. I'd watch programmes, films, read books about, shit i'd got to bed at night scared of waking up and seeing some strange dead bloke standing over me. Then when i hit my teens i sorta grew out of it.
When i was 18 i was staying at my girlfriends house who i'd known for 4 years but had only recently "got with" and she was conviced that the empty house five doors down the road from hers was haunted. As she was a year younger than me and a girl (yeah i know.....) i didn't believe her.
She told me the name of the lady who lived there and i started taking the piss out of it. I'm not going to type the name and i haven't spoken it since that night.
Anyway we're all (5 of us) sitting there in the dark watching T.V and i'm taking the piss out of this lady who haunts the house down the road. Sudenly the light comes on. I pass this of with a joke by saying "Carol's (my gf) had an idea, look". Light goes out.
That was all that happend for about an hour. Untill we turned we all went to bed. There were five of us all the sleeping in the same room, me, my gf and three of her mates (heaven for some yeah, but wait). So we turn the lights out and something starts banging. Light goes back on and we all concluded that the banging was the handle of a portable C.D player being lifted an dropped. One of my GF's mates is laying right by this soi moved it away from her. Lights out again and almost instantly it starts happening again. Lights on, move it right under the bed so NO-ONE can get to it. Lights out, bang, bang, bang, it starts again.
By this time we're all a bit freaked out as you can probably imagine.
So we put the T.V on and turn the light off. All's fine for about ten minutes. I'm laying on my front looking at the wall just drifting off to sleep when something lands on my back. I roll over have a look and it's a bottle of sun tan lotion. At this time i think someone's just fucking about trying to scare me so i ignore it, chuck it to K (gf's mate) and she puts it back on the shelf. Almost as soon as we've all settle down again it lands on my back. Everyone swears to me that they didn't throw it. Now i'm shitting myself.
I stay under the covers for two hours with this thing landing on my back and then someone putting it back where it came from. Obviously after a while (probably too long) i realise that it's probably my gf and her pals taking the piss out of me. So i roll over, the second and i MEAN the fucking second i take my head from over the covers and roll over i see this bottle of sun tan lotion hovering above the bed and in an instant it flies into my face. Straight back under the covers i go and now everyone is shitting themselves. Up until this point it was only me that was scared (lol). This time we dont put the bottle back.
So, five mins go by and we're all chatting and i'm starting to calm down. Then K mentions that nothing has happend for a while. She was sat on the bed next to me down by my waist when she said it then she got up and i rolle over. Had i not over moved when i did i would been knocked out by the video that came crashing into the headrest of the bed. I mean it was thrown with so much force it was fucking unbelievable. At this point we all ran from the room and ended up sleeping in my gf's sisters room.
Next day dogs toys are being from in my direction, fag butts shit a coaster at one point. Then in the afternoon i'm laying on the bed and there's a bottle of doctor pepper laying on the floor. As me and K are looking at it it flies up and hits the wall. I saw it move, no-one touched no-one was even near the thing.
By this point i've overcome my fear a little bit or more i'm passed the point of being scared and am now pissed off.
Now all this may seem a little far fetched but i swear i'm not making it up. I said out loud "Look, you've been throwing light shit at me all night and day. We all know you're there but what are you proveing. Throw me that teddy bear." Now my gf has got the biggest "me to you" bear there is. It's about three foot tall and cost £130. Anyway nothing happend.
We all left the room together and five mins later went back in. As we walked through the door my gf, K, and one of the others all say at the same time "SHIT, LOOK AT THE BEAR". Which has been turned around and is now facing the wall.
So that's my story. Believe it, dont belive it.
Do i believe in ghosts / poltergiest?
FUCKING YES I DO.

I never believed in ghosts at all until I went to college. My old frat house was a morgue way back in the day and i shit you not that place is haunted. Strange things happen in that place all the time, especially the basement. Lights will turn on and off randomly, you'll hear footsteps coming up the steps, shadows on the walls of second story windows. basically some spooky shit.
