Any one have any programs they use that are kinda cool? heres my list in no order.
SketchUp - 3D drawing software
Vegas - Video editing
eDonkey2000 - File shareing
Winamp - Mp3 player
Milkdrop - Trippy plug in for winamp
Cool edit - Audio editing
Azureus - Bittorrent client (file shareing)
Atomic TimeSync - Make your clock acurate
Apophysis 2.0 - Trippy thing not sure what it is but looks cool
Google Earth - 3D earth
DesktopEarth - Makes your background a view of the earth with current cloud cover and night/day

I used to be involved in a lot of website design and with those combined programs you can accomplish any graphical project hands down.

ZSNES - best program ever.

I used to have an awesome guitar program that has a mic tuner and a library of every scale and chord, and it translated tab to musical notation and back, plus you could listen to it all afterwards and export midis and such. Can't remember the name though.

ive already read that wikipedia entry about it and it doesnt explain much for me, for example is it a free way to get alot of cool games and then play them online? or is it just a general multiplayer client?:confused:

It's a unique program. Usually there are other programs one can compare programs to but this one is too different. It's kinda like punk buster, a download client, and some other things in one program.

No, when you buy games that have "Steam" or "Valve" on the back usually you have to install them and register the serial through Steam and it'll preload it on Steam for you and you play it through Steam Client. It's nothing more than a program that makes it more organized for you to play all Steam powered games instead of going in your program files list everywhere.

The best program for downloading anything at a reasonable speed is DC++, get it you'll know what I mean.... if you have the patients to figure it out.

I have azereus. I don't like it. It's a memory hog just like windows explorer. I use aston for my desktop and bit tornado for my torrents. Hundreds of files at a good speed. Very few resources to do it.

a friend of mine kind of has the same idea as you, but he doesn't have anything in the taskbar... he has nothing but a recycle bin on his desktop and everything else is in start menu...
as for programs..
Lime Wire Pro (which thanks to people here i learned you can download the pro version with the *free* limited version)
ares (kind of like morpheus, but no spyware/adware)
uTorrent
Winamp
ASE (all seeing eye, i use it to play my mmofps's)
Gunbound (a free game, i rarely play anymore.. it gets addicting tho, site is softnyx.net if anyone is intrested in it)
Adobe Premier 6 (video editing software)
Afreecodec (ever download an avi. file and you can't watch it for some reason, usually the screen is black, all you do is open afreecodec, select tthe video that won't play, and it'll tell you which codec you need to download in order to view the file, easy as hell to use)
Spybot search and destroy (spyware/adware remover)
Crap Cleaner (CCleaner for short, just what you think it is, cleans up all the crap on your computer you dont' need)
Regseeker (deletes obsolete/old registry entries, helps get your computer running a bit smoother)
and i use PSP 7, because that's the one i learned on...

i also play on pogo.com alot... usually high stakes poker or pool...

even tho i do use it pretty much exclusively, winamp slows down my computer worse then windows media player 10, so i have to use the old original skins on winamp (not the new looking ones)....

Wimamp only slows down my computer when I try to run an online radio, but since I dont use it as much I use Windows Media Player 10 more often.

well i never really just listen to music i'm alway doing something while listening to music, such as downloading shit, playing games and so on.... both programs slow down my computer, i only use winamp because i like it's layout better then WMP, easier to use i guess you could say.

yeah I've been using winamp for as long as I could remember, and its been the best thing thats ever happened to me! my computers slow as hell and it doesn't take much memory at all for me, blessing in disguise

shit man too bad your not from the chi (or are you? :rolleyes:) lol, or else we would blaze!

and ccleaner i just recently started using and its helped my computer run so much better! another blessing from the internet gods!
