I would flower them now, you can always regenerate for a mother. ( I wrote this and posted it like a half hour ago it seems I lose posts every day strange)

preflowers will begin showing once alternating branching gets going...or about where you're at now. it begins anywhere from 5-8 weeks and signifies the plant is sexually maturing and you should be able to see them at the joints of branches with trunk (i tend to find them 1st at the junction where the pinch was made)...and later, up on the branches where the leaves meet them. a 10x magnifying glass will help immensely with id-ing them.
and if i were you i'd bump up the daylight hours a bit to maximize growth. the least amount of daylight people i know about use is 18 hours while most of us use 20-21 during veg.

really.. theres more productivity in 20-21?? would this be ideal for growers with restrictive time limits?

Buster my brother
those are huge for five weeks old. regardless the light should be fine as long as it has a decent spectrum. Lumens get cut in half every foot they travel so it depends on how big they finish at, in regards to if it will do for the rest of the cycle.

cheers for that kong i apreciate it that ya took the time too look over my question nice one
well with that answer ya just gave me about loosing lumens every foot they have to travel maybe another 200w envirolite could do it justice what ya think my friend:)

highweed ya might as well sex them now to see. can always throw them back in veg to grow a mother so you never have to worry about buying nugs or sexing again.
Buster the 200watt is 13,500 lumens which if one foot up I would guess would cover 2 feet by 2 feet wide and about a foot down with primary light under a hood.
They would be great for shelf growing.

Do you have seperate flowering/vegetive rooms? If so this is what I would do:
1. Take clones (cuttings) from all your un-sexed plants. Plenty of cloning guides around if your unsure how to do it.
2. Once your clones are rooted, flower them under 12/12 light to determine sex. Make sure you mark all the clones so you know what plant they came from, then you can get rid of your males and use the females as mothers for more clones
Of course this won't work if you only have the one room, although it doesn't take much space for a veg room.

Average 60 days flowering (12/12). Probably a little bit more...

My veg room was 6 feet by 10 feet and had 30 two foot mothers, 15 cloning tray spots, and a 4 by 4 space to veg before flower which held about 150 cups maybe more, never counted just filled the space.

Flower time will depend on strain, lights, nutes, and many other variables. Find a trichrome guide (I'm sure there's one somewhere on this board, I'm new here so I'm no too sure) and go buy a descent magnifing (spelling?) glass or a jewlers loupe and keep a close eye on your trichromes. When they start to turn a golden/amber color your gettin real close. But again, find a guide on trichromes, the best thing you can do is read, read, read.

hundred at a sitting. My bud room was 21 feet long about and 9 feet wide of single cola small plants. Well it was a bit bigger but thats the area the plants took up.

Itll work. Two rooms are best yes. Where is the closet door in relation to the closet, could you make a shelf on each side?

Yeah, two room is best. You get yourself a perpetual harvest. I attached a Trichrome guide for you to check out, it should help you figure out when to harvest. you may have to use a photoshop on it to see it better, I had to shrink it fit it on here.

i have made the new room is this the veg room? am putting a 1000watt sodium in there ? so am going to run 16/8 in there and my main room is 12/12 cycle
Dr.Gonzo96
03-19-2006, 06:24 PM
Okay here a few tips for you:
- 16/8 light cycle is for your vegetive room
- 12/12 if for flowering (budding)
- HPS lights are better for flowering
- I use cfl's (compact florescents) for Vegetive but you can also use metal halide
Your new room could be for either veg of flowering. What are the dimensions of both rooms? Did you say the new room is a closet? If so your gonna have bigtime temp problems with a 1000w hps in there. Your gonna need a good exhaust fan, and a temp controller would probly be a big help in a small area.

Another thing that helps alot for temp controll in a closet, is an air-cooled reflector.
