I took a cutting from a 7 day into flowering female,
The mother is doing fine, but the clone is looking dead to me.
I'm just wondering if I did it wrong.

Took a lower cutting, it was only a 3 prong leaf, but imagined it would be sufficient to start growing from, as this was just a first attempt at a clone.
I cut the entire branch off from the node and then popped it in some rooting hormone, then into some MG potting soil, and lightly watering.
It's under a 100w fluro for the time being as it should be constantly immersed in light apparently, just the leaves look dead to me, the branch itself is sturdy enough, it's been almost 3 days now, I know that the roots would be growing initially, just thought it would be done by now?
Or should I of infact cut off a smaller, but more developed branch?
Hits/tips/ideas would be appreciated.
:)
Cheers guys

Sometimes clones r a bitch anyway. Use rapid rooter at the hydro store. Cut ur clones 3 nodes down from the top of the branch u pick. make sure the branch u pick looks like a fast growing branch too, that always works 4 me! ;)

ah well, this was just a fan leaf, maybe that's why?
It had the fan leaf, a branch and then the node, on the node was a fast developing branch with several nodes but obviously that would be more important to save :P

Also, dylan posted in a cloning question on basic growing that it shouldnt be done in flowering, all well and good, except i waited 6 weeks before flowering and didnt see any preflowers, so how long would that take lol?

ah well, it's turning yellow, so maybe........ I dunno, maybe the cutting doesnt like the potting soil? which is weird because my seeds loved it!

You need a book .
leaves will root but not easily.
you need a growing tip about 2-3 inches in size for a decent clone and under good conditions it will root in 10 days.
Cuttings from a plant in full flower is a little harder and can take up to a month to root.
I think this is the best time to take a cutting because you know how well your cuttings will yeald.

hmmm well
the total length is around 4 inches,2 in soil, so out.
1 inch is covered with rooting gel hormone.
Yeah, I understand what you mean by needlessly taking clones if they are going to be crap.
Truth is though, that I have 1 female out of the whole batch. Which kinda fucks me off. No hermies, so obviously, didn't cause em too much stress ;)
that would sucked tho, 4 males, 1 hermie :(:( lol
10 days, heard it was like 3/4.
Ok, well thanks for the heads up guys,
Mole.
