So I'm pretty new to smoking weed, and have done it I'd say about 10 or so times. Last night I had a really cool high, and was wondering if anyone has had anything similar. I was also trying to figure out if the strain is indica or sativa.
I'm going to try and not exaggerate anything.
So I smoked a bowl, and the effects kicked in maybe 10-15 min. later. I eventually layed down on the floor after being on the computer. And I was listening to a band called infected mushroom, who are absolutely amazing stoned. My body felt really heavy or weightless or something, hard to describe, kind like I was floating. I kept having the sensation that I was coming out underneath of my body and getting sucked back in. I could also like make these waves of warmth or cold go over my body. Eventually it started to wear off, and I got up but I was really tired. Cool experience though.
Are there lots of different types of "highs" you can get?

Always great to sucked into the floor

yeah dude, felt just like I was getting sucked into the floor.
and also sometimes it felt like my body was like pulling apart, like all the particles were pulling apart. crazy stuff.

are u kidding man EVERY high seems different for me sativa vs. indica for me is defined by what's happening in my head... sativa strains usually mess with my mind and i start thinkin of some random crazy shit. indica really doesn't mess with my mind much but it's always more chill and u just want to sit down and relax. :)
i've also noticed that each different smoking utensil produces a different type of high for me, and these "types" of highs are usually very consistent (fast, long lasting, variance in intensity) but the actual HIGH always seems a bit different than the last one. it's probably what keeps me comin back :rasta:
oh and by the way, practically any music just sounds good high, and i have $130 Bose sound canceling headphones so music is nothing less than euphoric for me :D
P.S. (on a more pessimistic note) you'll never get as high as you're gettin right now so enjoy these beginner experiences because you're gonna reminisce about them often when you're a vet smoker :)
by the way, are you a laid back and relatively quiet person? i know about 6-7 people named alex and every last one of them has the same lowkey, laid back, easy going personality. just interested to see if i can tack on another alex to that list (i've never met a crazy extroverted type A person named alex lol)

yeah, I'm looking forward to discovering everything weed has to offer,
it's really true that the highs when you first start smoking are the best? Couldn't you just quit for a month or so, and come back and the highs would be as powerful? I still don't think i've seen everything weed has to offer....
as far as my personality goes, haha, I'd say I'm pretty laid back, never get too worked up or anything. But I'm not shy and I can get pretty crazy sometimes, so not sure where I'd fit in

The first times are definitely the best highs. I remember mine and they all seem about 10 times better than my highs now.
Its weird, but I remember it takin' about 20 minutes to kick in back in the day, but now I'm always pretty high just before I stop smoking it. Which I kind of liked better cause it seemed more noticeable, but now I'll just be smoking and then be like "...I'm high." and continue smoking, whereas before It was like 20 minutes later and I'd be like "...awesommeee!"
I think a big part of it is that when you first start its usually a pretty special thing and you can't wait to get high again, and most people smoke on occasion when they start, I only did it 1-3 times a month, thats not even once every weekend. But lately I've been getting high everyday, so its like I know what to expect exactly which kinda kills it for me.
So, enjoy your beginning toking experiences as you can, and keep it to an occasional celebration as long as you can.

no one has ever seen everything weed has to offer. it's a pretty abstract drug and it can easily rekindle its flame inside of you if you're in the right moment
and yeah man u can quit for a month, a few months, even a year. you'll get just as high physically, but when the drug is new and mysterious the high is just better. also, i used to go through so many obstacles (parents going to bed, getting it, where to smoke, when to smoke) but it's become so easy now... which is partly why i think i do it more. whenever i want to smoke i simply go up to my bathroom, use a few odor killing materials that i have, and i'm out clean and high. any time of the day works too, my parents are never upstairs and the upstairs bathroom is the one i use.
but anyways tolerance isn't all physical. you get to the point where you just know how a high works, the length, the peak, and it kind of loses its novelty. fortunately just as weed is getting more and more boring and you're thinking about quitting, you get this high that completely changes your mind about it. at least this happen to me.
i'm gonna recommend to you that you don't start smoking daily. i think it was the worst mistake i ever made, killed my finances and i never got anything productive done. also, i really feel like my tongue cannot interpret my minds thoughts as fast and i get caught up or trip over words usually when i'm talking to multiple people at once. i really don't know if weed has anything to do with it, but i never had any problem talking before i started smoking.
through all of this i still love marijuana. it has shown me many a good time and i will never forget that. i go through phases of not liking it and trying to quit all the way back to trying to get it all the time and smokin up all the time.
many people will tell you differently, that smoking daily is fine and they can get whatever done that they need to do. this is fine, they are probably right, but for me it seems like weed just loses its specialty and fun when you smoke it daily. i'm not talking about once a day or anything either, i was up to 2-4 times a day easily.

(can't edit past 5 mins)
also i read about your experiences on your other thread and it just seems like you were really confused / lightheaded. one good thing about experience is u learn to control your high much much better and it can become a nicer experience to you. you'll have the nice effects of pot without the massive confusion u seemed to have on your first few times smokin

yeah, I don't see myself smoking that regularly, especially since I live with my parents( I'm 16), so it's kinda risky, but not too bad once they go to bed.
I really just can't picture being high constantly, it would be too hard to get shit done. I get really tired after I smoke a lot too, so I usually just go to bed after.
thanks for the responses

if you get to the point where you don't like smoking much or w/e, try eating. it sort of has that effect of getting high 20 min after you smoke, because when you eat it, it takes a while to kick in once it does, it owns.

I agree, later experiences can't compare to early ones. But I think they can be just as fruitful.
Like I got baked and went to the Independent party caucus last week and it was fucking awesome. I made some seriously profound observations about human nature and American politics, and personality types.
Wear sunglasses, walk around with a 'scary monster' sign hanging from your chest and a black leather glove on the wrong hand and challenge strangers to hockey games - confrontational art, man. Act out a script with some friends.
Be creative and spontaneous - art and grass are like two peas in a pod.
I think you have to find new and novel things to do - go to an art museum baked or ride the bus (that is fucking awesome). I've always been the 'silent observer' type, and lately I've been observing on a whole new level. But, I suppose, even this will get old and I'll have to find something else to do, or maybe just stop smoking for a year or something.

sorta ive had like dank out of bodys and shit its amazing
The body stones are great, normally associated with an indica strain. Very nice feelings. I have the whole body comming apart feeling and my legs and arm feeling so heavey i cant move (Couch Lock)
When im so stoned i can hardly breathe by myself i like to keep tapping on my upper thighs and feel the taps go all the way down my leg and come back up in waves. Its an amazing feeling.
