im 18 and have been smoking pretty consitently for about 2 years. For the last 3-4 months its been almost everyday. I play baseball for my school and do very wel academically and am going to University of Florida next year. Recently I have been getting caught smoking and now my car is taken away and my parents wnat me to see a drug counselor. On numerous occasions i have provided them with literature on marijuana use but they will not even read it. All I hear from them is "illegal" "drug addiction" and other negative weed related propaganda. I cannot wait till August so i can toke in peace. Any one have any ideas on what i can do to help out htis situation, and quitting weed is not an option :rasta:

They took your car? YOUR car? Thats kinda illegal, seeing as its your property.
I cant believe the shit that some people let their parents put them through.

Tell them that if they dont read the stuff u provide them with then you wont listen to them, once they read it they should see it's not physicly addictive etc. Make sure they know that you know exactly what your doing.

My parents have caught me a couple times, and they just say that they dont want me smoking or at least wait until Im 18. But they really dont care that much either way. lol, my mom tried smoking some of the stuf that they took from me one time, it was in a lightbulb vaporizer, so she didnt know how to use it.

Tell them to leave you the fuck alone and they're ignorant fucks with no mind of their own. But you can't expect your parents to ALLOW you to participate in an illegal activity, so keep that in mind. Just make them realize theres nothing wrong with it, and make them think you quit, or atleast cut back a great deal.

Well seeing as your parents wont read that paper dont try any harder. Keep all your shit in a good hiding place. Only smoke at night when there sleeping or go to a friends house and smoke. Dont come home high, use eyedrops... and that's it I guess. Hope some of that helps man.

When will parents realize that u cannot force your kids to do things, people will always find a way to get what they want. Tell your parents that until they give u some respect and at least read or listein to your opinion on the subject that u will not listien to their opinion. You are 18 soon to go to college and they wanna make u quit something they know nothing about. Good Luck Man --------and have fun at florida with that GAINSVILLE GREEN

You can always try to make them change their mind, but really it's easier to just make them think you stopped. I smoke, my parents don't know it at all, and it works better that way (My parents also are complete ingorants). So yeah act like you changed your mind and stopped, and smoke when they're away from home, or some place else. But I don't know who your parents are, maybe you can still make them change their mind, or at least make them read the books.

my parents have me beat.
i have convinced them about numerous marijuana facts (doesn't kill brain cells, has never been proven to cause any sort of cancer at all, in fact it prevents it, it's not addictive, it's all natural, etc etc) but they still say "it's illegal and we do not want you getting that on your record" and they are right, that is the risk you take with marijuana... it can be very hard to get a job when you have a drug offense on your track record (unfortunately) so i really hit a stalemate with them. my dad thinks it should be legal, my mom does not. but they both are avid believers that it should be used medically which is preety cool id say

your 18 they can't dictate your life like that
Well, he's still living in their house, they might have helped him buy the car, and they're probably going to help pay for college. So, as long as he wants those benefits, they do have a right to dictate his life like that. Of course he could always decide to be uneducated and homeless.
Anyhow, with my parents it was always the "illegal" thing. Unfortunately, at least in my experience, that's one argument that you'll never be able to win. Unless, of course, Florida suddenly legalizes weed and I serioulsy doubt Ol' Jeb would go for that.
Bottom line, just be more careful and don't get caught again. As long as your grades and athletics don't suffer you should be able to convince your folks that your not a "druggie"

yes, lying is the best way to deal with ignorant people. say it was just a rebellious or experimental phase you were going through and you're giving it up for good. then when you don't need them anymore say "fuck you mr. and mrs. monkeyballs, you wouldn't listen to reason."
