I think there are way more factors here, seems like a little bit of BS.

It's a corporate conspiracy. The corporations run the government now. Just another propaganda campaign, exploiting the death of a sick elderly person.
Clearly this is an indirect link to cannabis.

exactly the government is trying to tie anything they can to prove that marijuana is harmful...even though it is not, they are having trouble getting real facts about the harms of cannabis...so they make shit up

Yep...those dumb shits somehow found a way to make a drug that's completely harmless and cures nearly everything, into something with harmful side effects and probably doens't cure things nearly as well.

this is such bullshit!! did they ever think that this new pill she was testing could have interacted wrong with what she was taking for her diabetes??? my mother is diabetic and smokes pot all the time, when she takes a new med she has to go through the list of drug interactions.....duuuhh

Its totally true. It itself is not cannabis but a D9-THC supplement that helps to ease pain, the "healthy" way to take cannabis. The doctors wouldn't openly say "well, we thing you should smoke cannabis." because it is high in tar, not culturally acceptable, and some paintents would not be comfortable, morally, to smoke marijuana. Yes, this is sort of a stupid reason not to smoke but people who highly believe in something may not want to indulge in that type of treatment. It is, however, a start to medicinal usage of marijuana. You'd be surprised how many people are afraid of cannabis and don't want to try it because of its illicit background and people should respect that and make another drug like cannabis without the unhealty effect of smoking it, and yes vaporizers are less unhealthful but still, in essence, unhealty. This is not a marijuana death this is an alergic reaction to a drug made from D9-THC. The pill probably had other chemicals in it besides D9-THC and she probably croaked from it.

Yeah, as far as testing with credible results this just doesn't cut the cake to condemn MJ. The conditions were just too off, it will go down as something to consider when other test results with MJ come but it's nothing.

Even IF this was true, I'm going to take the chance in being the 1 in 1,000,000,000,000 to die ;)

I don't see an obvious connection to cannabis. If pneumonia and renal failure were side effects of cannabis I'm pretty sure they would be on the books by now. Yet another scare report is printed only so they can turn around and print a calming report in a few weeks. Yaay for capitalism.

A reason why companies must NOT attempt to manufacture synthetic THC. If you need it as a patient, just smoke or cook the plant material/buds - natural is the way forward.

2 more years? Ive been holding that thought for my whole life, now you want me to wait another two fuckin years?!
Id love to open a Church of Cannabis though. Instead of communiun wafer, youd have little slices of hash being passed around, and instead of wine, youd have canna-wine. Oh, and we'd all get blazed and then sing Bob Marley and Jimi Hendrix songs and dance and get even more blazed and worship a big 6 foot bong.

Typical media sensationalism. Notice how they never really say she died because of the medicine. They just want you to think she did. The headline "Patient died during cannabis drug trial" could just have well read "Patient died while breathing oxygen" . But the headline is what counts and most people will have made up their mind as soon as they read it, long before ever reading the story itself. Pefect example of why I hate the media

I'm sure it did have other things in it besides D9-THC. I'm sure of it because companies can't make money off of natural elements. D9-THC is natural, so they can't patent it and make money off of it. So they made that pill with other shit in it.

This one death may scare people into going "OMG see! see! marijuana KILLED somebody!", but what most people don't realize is that such an attitude is born out of the massive ignorance towards the pharmacudical industry. The government does a real nice job quieting down the fact that over a hundred thousand people die a year from prescription meds in the states alone. but give us one person who smokes a joint and dies (which has yet to happen) and let the fear mongering begin!
I watched the movie "Requiem for a dream" yesterday, and it made an excellent point when his mother got on these weight-loss drugs (which are really just speeders). she eventaully starts hallucinating and losing grip on reality, destroying her mind day by day on these things, with the doctor just dismissing her as having "side-effects". it's amazing really how me using cannabis to relieve my pain is illegal, yet I just got some flexeril from the doctors that get me so stoned sometimes I can't function.
next time somebody argues making medical marijuana legal will increase use recreationally, point out that several opiod and other much harder drugs are all legally and frequently prescribed as painkillers. I guess that encourages even harder drug use too.

Good movie. When I end up in the hospital someday for cancer or something like that, I will accept no pharmaceutical painkillers. I'm hitting a bong every god damn morning in that hospital bed, every afternoon, every evening, and then of course a couple of rips for my sleep. And if I get cancer, I will not do any Chemotherapy or any of that shit.
You know the main cancer treatment ways(Chemotherapy and X-ray therapy, I think theres one more treatment that is used a lot too. I don't remember). Those treatments for cancer are some of the least effective methods for treating cancer. The reason why they use those is because, like I said before, they can't sell natural elements. So they use some of the least effective methods of treating you, just so they can make some fucking money.

hmmmm....interesting...I noticed something that they seem to have failed to properly explain in detail. check this quote from the article, "Mrs Anderson was admitted to hospital several days later after a series of hypoglycaemic attacks."
Now, I've had hypoglycemic attacks (extremely low blood sugar levels) myself many times, and the "side effects" are exactly what this woman was experiencing. The confusion, appearing drunk, are associated with low blood sugar levels. Also this quote is interesting, "She developed pneumonia, respiratory problems and died of kidney failure, the hearing in Sheffield was told."
CANNABIS DOES NOT CAUSE KIDNEY FAILURE!!!!!!!!
If the writers of this article actually did some research, they would easily find out that someone suffering from diabetes has a very good chance of dying from kidney failure. Hmmmmm....nah its got to be the cannabis based drug that did it....couldn't be the disease that she had....must be that evil drug created from cannabis....IGNORANT BASTARDS!!!! Why can't journalists ever get their facts straight...MOTHERF*CKERS!!!!

That's some excellent information my good fellow. I'm hypoglycaemic as well, and while I didn't read the article carefully enough, I see what you mean. I've never let my blood sugar get too severely low, but it definately makes it hard to balance, hard to think, aggitated/irritable, and exhausted.

Mary Jane is NO KILLER..She may make you think deeply about your self and make you laugh alot but she aint no killER!
No, your all right, its bullshit, because cannabis didnt kill her. It's a physical impossibility. Now we have that out of the way, I think what did kill her was the fact she was an old lady, and very unwell before the tests took place.
Also, for some reason, they put cannabis in the title, but they didnt talk about the other drugs in the one she was given that can kill you...
We all know cannabis cant kill, so we all know this really is bullshit...
Now all the dumb ass idiots who seem to think their bias opinions are actually fact, think they are right and cannabis does kill you.
If anyone says that hit them utill they are on the floor praising cannabis.
Cannabis is no killer, end of... The pharmacuticle companies are the killer.

She died from a manufactured drug, not from smoking cannabis. They probably put some other shit in the drug that caused the kidney failure. Feh, gotta love how the media distorts the truth - asses.
