Alright I want to start my next grow off seriously and I need a few recomendations.

1. Soil recomendation
2. Grow light recomendation ( brand name and where to get it, under $200)
3. Fert recomendation
4. Any other essentials that would help make it easier and more productive.

Im sure I could find this info elsewhere, but every time I try i cant get a straight answer. If anyone wants to share a good, small indoor setup please do. I want to use AK-48 seeds, but if anyone knows a good productive strain for indoor growing please tell me.

We need some more info! :D

How many plants are you planning on growing?
Do you want more plants with less yield per plant?
Do you want less plants with more yield per plant?

I got my grow light at InsideSun.com

There are also different kinds of light, HPS, MH, Flouros, ect.

With around 200 bucks for a light, I'd get an HPS. I think it would give you the most bang for your buck.

I want to grow 2 plants at once, I want to get a MH/HPS with a convertable ballast at least. I gotta find out where I could go out and buy one. It would be pretty suspicious if a big light suddenly arrived in the mail one day. Id need a pretty good excuse for my parents.

yikes, you are doing this at your parents place??? a few suggestions...

if the house isnt big and your parents dont give you your space id go with 2-4ft cooltubes because they are quiet, and im guessing this is your first grow so it will be a good learning experience, ballasts make a lot of noice that your parents could pick up on-- but if you do have space, and your parents let oyu roam, get a switchable and a hood... i found mine at www.bghydro.com

as for soil, plaegron with perilite it good. i made the mistake of using miracle grow soil for my first grow which didnt have enough perilite and made it hard for the roots to grow

REspect your parent's. They are letting you live under there roof, and are putting food in your mouth. It is your parents that will get in trouble if you get caught by the law. You will do better off to find a place out doors to grow !!!!! it is funny how many posts I see here that kids post !!!! If you guys where smart enough you hit the search button on the top of the page and search for the information. If you are going to do a grow indoors GET YOUR OWN PLACE !!!!!!

mrtbone55 is right. Unless your parents give you explicit permission to grow weed in their house, DO NOT GROW WEED in you parents house; especially if you life in the states. Many states consider cultivation weed in any amount to be a felony. Some states have Mandatory minimum sentences for cultivation. I'm not trying to scare you, I just feel you should be aware the possible repercussion YOU AND YOUR PARENTS face should you decide to engage a risky and illegal activity. If you live in the states, i wouldd also advise you check out this link http://www.norml.org/index.cfm (http://www.norml.org/index.cfm) the site will inform you of local and federal weed laws in the U.S. After visiting that site it was apparent to me that I need to move to the Netherlands. I'm trying to flame you I just really really really want you to think before you act.

metal halide bulbs work in hps ballasts but hps bulbs wont work on mh ballasts thats what i have read anyway and i found fox farm soil is good for starting with it has it all and best of luck on your grow.

My bad pimpin:pimp:, I meant no disrespect. Clearly I had no Idea you're a grown ass man. Acctually, I only got one year on you homie. Anyways, as far as lighting goes I've read that you need at least 2000-3000 lumens/ sq. ft. you can't go wrong with putting as many lumens as possible in your grow area as long as you protect your plants from the crazy heat that HID lights can and will put out.
- IMHO you should get a Full spectrum 400w hps hid light. (If I could afford it I'd personally use one of these or bigger: http://www.specialty-lights.com/5910.html)
- As far as soil goes, if you get a soil thats meant for growing tomatoes and mix in some pearlite (15-20%) your ladies should fare quite well.
- As far as ferts, I've heard superthrive and tiger bloom are good but don't listen to me on ferts. I fucked up my credibility when I used miracle gro.
- Finally, and folks might laugh at me for this:o , but I play a lot of music and talk to my plants. The ladies seem to respond well to the extra attention.

Happy growing and good luck.

These advices are on my personal favorites regarding to simple growing.

1a. Start off in little pot´s (VEG) with lightly fertilized soil
b. In the bigger pots use soil with guano in it (bat droppings)

2. 1x 600 Watt growlight.

3. No fertilizer needed with the guano in the soil, except maybe some PK13-14.

4. Good ventilation (maybe a heavy computerfan for intake and a tablefan for indoor air circulation)

But that´s just my oppinion

well cell54 u sound lyk u know what ur doing

I'm growing 4 plants right now with 80w total from (2) 15w 15"in fl tubes, and (2) 25w full spectrum cfl bulbs.. i'm doin just fine

as funny as it seems, weed really doesnt need all that much care, they learn to adapt (1).. they're alot like humans, even the male plants got ballsacks, cmon!

alot of ppl kill their plants by tending to them too much, over fertilizing, over watering, etc, cus they'll swear its not perfect yet lol.. TRUST ME when i say this, I'm DEfiniteLY one of them, so i'm tellin u from experience..

I got my plants growin in a small 18" high bin, a regular storage bin u can find at walmart.. the lights total were lyk $30.. I also got liquid nutrients which were total $80, to boost my plants, as compensation for the rather weak lighting..

My plants will be fine with these for a few weeks.. I ordered some special bulbs on the way, totalling $50, i'm expectin to see some new changes.. I'll keep u updated.. If you wanna see how my plants are doin, check out my Back On Track post..

put ur seeds in a paper towel, wet the paper towel up til it holds water (not ALOT, jus make it damp, but enough that a few drops can collect in this or that corner, ya kno?) place it in a ziplock, and wrap the ziplic in a shirt, and place it pretty close to a heater.. test it out... the paper towel should be warmer than warm water, and colder than a hot shower.. pretty much guaranteed results.. my seeds shot out a quarter inch root with in a day..

start ur plants in regular soil with nothing added, u can get a big bag at walmart for $1.. flip the fluros on and check it out...

u should draw out plans, lyk home-made hydroponic systems, if u check out my set up, u'll see what i'm talkin about.. the vets on here buy all these big ballasts n stuff, but there's more than 1 way to skin a cat.. But do consider the light affects potency.. Its recommended u invest into it, but u dont have to.. But as the saying goes, "you get wat you pay for.." do wat you need to do to get by..

Yeah thanks, Im getting a 400 watt MH light source(econo-grow mini thing, I dont feel like looking up the full name again) with an agrosun warm deluxe bulb which Ive found out is a good multi-spectrum bulb for both flowering and vegging. It saved me a good amount of money, $234(if I bought an additional Hps conversion bulb) compared to $189(the bulb is included in the package for an extra $35) .

Also, welding is a good skill to have, for all you kids out there. Its also handy as well, if you have a good welding machine at home you can make a large planter, and spray paint it white, and Tada you've got a large sturdy planter for a couple of bucks.
