trying to decide whether to prune or not, we have been told by close friends of ours that also grow that if we prune the bottom our plants we will yield more. My partner believes it will, but i dont. I figure that since our plants aren't too bunched up and our box is covered in mylar that the bottom of the plants will also be receiving light

NO! Do not prune ANY of the fan leaves, take care of all that when you harvest.:D

per area I get higher total yields with more plants all single cola. it depends how you grow and how many clones you can take. if unlimited clones are not an option and you only got a set number to work with then dont prune.

single kola is the 'chitman'...You only hurt/shock the plant if you start hacking off leaves...

Sometimes I trim off the bottom 2-3 sets that are young and useless, to allow the plant to breath better during flower...I do this a couple weeks before transition...never in flower.

I cut the little useless lower branches also...I topped all my plants this time...but I'm testing for a breeder and I did it for him too.To see how they react to topping.Plus I needed cutting's to clone. What better then a fat top.
