So I was just looking at my favorate online store to get a couple custom parts for a aero system I am in the works of designing and I no alot of folks do not like using coco fiber as a medium as it can clog sprayers. My system is going to run organics obviously and for a medium I need something organic to support micro organic life. I am planning on using rockwool cores flushed to remove the lime, grow rocks and cocofiber. I would like to run air stones that I mist with sprayers constantly to create humidity in my plexglass container. The mix will be constantly stired with a seperate pump then the pump running the sprayers. For sprayers I will be using the ones that disperse the water in a 360 degree fashion and I will run as many air stones as my massive koi pound air pump can handle. I figure since there will be not much water at the bottom of my 16 inch deep chamber the roots will have plenty of space to grow. Drainage will be powered by gravity reducing pump noise and power consumption. Each plant site as I love my little plants will have 8 square inches of space. I plan to build another table with 6 sq inches of space each for the first phase of flowering and vegitative growth. The reason I did this thread though is coco fiber can clog sprayers and untill now I was not aware of capillary mat that you can line your net cups with to prevent just such an accurance. I may try coffee filters but dont know how they will hold up. The shop is worms way and this is what they have to say about the product, " Line your net cups with Capillary Matting to improve moisture wicking and retention of media in the cup. This 12" x 36" sheet can be cut into any shape or size to fit your needs."

Questions
1. Any one know how well roots go through this material or coffee filters?
2. How thick is it and what is it made of.

I figure roots grow through cocopots so why would they not be able to bust through this material made for net cups or ideally coffee filters.

Any insight is greatly appreciated and when I call the store when they open tomorrow, or when I call the store if they are open when I wake up tomorrow. (I love chating with them and have not spoken with them in months.) I will post what they have to say about it if anyone working there tomorrow has used it.

Thanks for the help

One love
