so for one method u put your leaves, n stuff in ice water, so the tricoms become brittle and fall off. they sink, while the foliage floats

question how do u gather(filter)out the tricoms?

no problem, after you strain it all through, scrape them off with like a dull knife, if you do a search for hash making on these forums you can find more detailed steps to make hash

Yes, pantyhose.

The method you described is the ice water method. It takes more than just let the material sit in the water. You have to visiously shake that container for a good 20min straight, to knock the trichs loose. I find this method not that good unless you use the proper way, and buy some bubble bags.

Use the pantyhose method. I have used it a few times with awesome success.

All I did was I was busted up all the materail, and put it in the freezer for about 30min. Cooling it will shake all the loose trichs off easier. I then stretched the hose over top of a small plastic container, secured it with an elastic. I then got a mirror, and started shaking it to shit. In about 10min of shaking, you'll be left with a nice pile of trichs.

Pressing the trichs into hash is another story though. :)
