I just discovered a Coleus entry @ erowid.org
This is really cool, because virtually any garden shop sells coleus. Has anyone tried it?

yeah I have been growing some for a few months now. they seem to grow slow . I started them from seed.
seems like the leaves would taste kinda nasty though but Im now sure.
but yeah I was thinking of doing an extraction.

ehm, what kind of extraction?
the active alkaloids arent even known and are very instable (cant even dry the leaves)

most likely they are similar to Salvinorin and that is a deterpin not an alkaloid.
therefore use the same type extraction that you would for Salvia

Ok,guys I've tried Coleus, and it doesn't work.Coleus Blumei to be exact.I made a big gallon jug of tea,and nada.I even balled up fresh leaves, and kept a big wad under my tongue.Unless my modes ingestion aren't right,it isn't psychoactive. It is a meber of the salvia family though. Here is one of my Coleus.PEACE

the first pic by Euphoric is Coleus Blumei.

btw Firebrand,
proper quidding can be a pain in the butt. use Salvia quidding method, mouthwash first ect....
also it takes 50 to 60 fresh leaves
I have a hard time just quidding Salvia and getting anything out of it

I used a ton of leaves, and kept the quid in my mouth for well over an hour.I really don't beleive this plant is psychoactive.I've never seen any trip reports on it either. It is in the same family as salvia though.Have you ever got anything out of it Harmonic?Let me know,ok?PEACE

I have some growing now but will try when ready :-). I will also do some extractions and post my results hopefully if this section doesn't get removed :-).
